Forums - Nintendo - Theory: NoA won't publish M games

This is only a theory, founded only on the most basic of assumptions, but i've been scratching my had raw as it were trying to figure out why NoA isn't releasing Fatal Frame IV. It probably would be rated M (given franchise history, and i believe Disaster would have been rated M also, between the swearing and the violence)

It would be easy to explain the situation if it were just Disaster on the list, considering the game scored a Floptacular in both Japan and Europe, but Fatal Frame could go on to at least as much as stuff like Fire Emblem or Wario Land: Shake It, so the remaining similarity is the mature themes of both titles

Just throwing it out there, anyway.

Its possible, I can see Nintendo not wanting damage their image with new fanbase...i m mean look at what happened with Madworld

If they did brought it here nintendo would have published it. Dont forget they also published Geist, and Eternal Darkness on the GC.

Thats before there new fanbase came

I agree and already advanced this theory in the other thread. I think NoA wants to give parents the assurance that then they pick up a Nintendo branded game it's one the whole family can enjoy.

And actually, I'm fine with that.

However, if that's the case then I would appreciate it, and as a fan, expect that they allow someone else to publish those same titles (like Temco or Sega) instead of just sitting on the publishing rights.

True, but this could be a more recent development of policy.
