Forums - Sony - Valkyria Chronicles DLC gets dated, priced

I could see it arguable that the harder difficulty is worth that for different types of people, if you really love the challenge and strategy over the story then it makes sense that you would be willing to pay that for a new difficulty. I personally don't really see it as being worth it, though I might still get it to write an impression or something.

$5 for a difficulty setting is too much. Something like that is supposed to be patched up. I'll probably get the Selvaria DLC; I loathe Edy.

The Selvaria and Edy missions are definite buys.

I still need to be convinced to buy the harder difficulty.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,

Sweet. Perfect timing for all of those (including myself) who picked this up for $30 during gamestop's Gamer Days sale!

It wouldn't be $30 if you bought it when you were supposed to. I'm not sure if I'll end up getting this anytime soon. I'm too busy working on all the RE5 achievements.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

Official Sega annoucment unfortunatly 12 euro total is true :(

I hope they give us some full pack for 10 for example otherwise I'll rather pass the hard mode.

Was going to post this, glad to see you guys beat me to it!

As far as US pricing, all three can be picked up at $4.99 each ($15 total.) This is kind of a neat balance; instead of Hard mode EX being cheaper and Selvaria being more expensive (as they were in Japan), all three will be the same price.

We've also got some cool contests set to begin soon... more news to come. :)

$5 for a harder difficulty? Even for the token Valkyria Chronicles fan here,  find that tough to spend that.

Do ya'll really think a harder difficulty is the same worth as a brand new campaign?

I can speak to help clarify this a bit, though I wasn't part of the group that decided the prices.

The way I follow it, the bottom line total for these (comparing US prices to Japanese prices) is actually about the same. The only difference is that in the west, Selvaria's campaign is actually cheaper than it was in Japan, while the Hard EX mode is a little higher, which is what balances them all out at $4.99 each.

If you were interested in all three, the cost has essentially not changed from the Japanese cost; I think it's simply a matter of reaction based on price to Hard Mode. Of course, if you are only interested in the campaigns, you can still get them both cheaper than the guys in Japan did. :)

Sweet overpriced DLC Badman!

I understand the reasoning behind the whole Japanese DLC. I expected Selvaria's DLC to be $8.

I'm just comparing to other games where they would release it for $1-2 or just completely free. I'm, at least, glad that we are getting it. So, is the US date the same?

The few people who own VC pretty much all love the game, so they're likely to spend quite some money on it. Good for Sega to earn an extra buck.

Gee I didn't know that there are times set that tell you when you're SUPPOSED TO buy something.

News to me.
