And... wait. If the legs have begun, it hasn't? ...What would make it an overrated success, then?

Legs? We don't know yet. The only thing I know is that 100k en the first three weeks is not too high for MadWorld. Let's hope the sales have a revival with The conduit launching and on Chritsmas holidays.

Pardon me for going on a rant, but this thread seemed like the place to do it. NJ5, I have always considered you a highly intelligent poster, and that's precisely why this thread disappoints me as much as it does. Let me make an analogy towards a runner since that's the basis of the term. If a runner started out slowly and after a couple minutes was keeping at a consistent pace, would you even call that close to "legs?" If GTA4 and Halo 3 were sprinters and Wii Fit was a marathon runner, than Madworld would be a middle schooler running laps in gym.

The main point of this is don't judge legs from three weeks of sales. You could say it alludes to the possibility of legs, but I could say that for a bunch of games. Hell, the game had a small dropoff this week in one region, but what if next week the sales plummeted and it only sold 2k in PAL? Would that be legs?

At the level of sales Madworld is it (which is fairly slow), you should probably wait more than a few weeks before even considering whether the games has legs or not. A small decrease when the game has sub-10k sales is not anything to get excited about, especially given how much marketing it was supposed to have.

Montana, you're late to the party. NJ5 already acknowledged it as very uncertain. That is why the topic is phrased as a question, rather than a statement of fact.

It is uncertain. I could say that any random game will pick up all of a sudden and start selling well even if its dead in the water, or that Killzone 2's sales will suddenly level out (although this is actually possible). This is a common mistake that irks me so as you'll notice I said "pardon me for going on a rant."

...It's not a mistake that can be attributed to this topic, though. The OP literally asks for people's opinions on whether this is an early indicator of legs or just a coincidence. I understand being irked, but that rant was a misfire.

Well I'll consider it a coincidence and ass what you think.

Hurr hurr hurr.

My opinion on this was made clear in my first post in the topic: wait and see, there's non way to tell yet.

Well that's my position too, and I'm glad we agree. And I'm really glad I assed.
