God, we get it. You don't like it when someone says Mario. After the third fourth time it's not as funny as you think it is.

Honestly Supermario128, if you continue posting that picture over and over again without contributing anything else to the thread I'm going to count it as spam. 4 times is a bit much.

Like they're entertaining which is all that matters, but they shouldn't be rated so highly. And the games that put the effort into a totally great story or concept but have a few minor bugs get ridiculed. |
Back in the day that was the day, games didn't have stories. They were things people played and competed against. Stories were reserved for movies and also books. Now, games are said to need stories.
I am reminded that Nolan Bushnell, the father of commercial videogames (and Atari) said his favorite game is...
Go.

Uncharted has top-notch graphics, solid voice acting and felt like a movie to me. Finely executed. I will sing is praises because of this. The controls are good to. It supplanted Tomb Raider for this genre, so that is all else that needs to be said.
I believe candidates for most overrated game of all time needs to be an exclusive on a console fanboys roll out to use as a bludgeon during their fanboy ways. Fanboys of the other systems should also taunt they are getting it. The game becomes far more than a game, it becomes a weapon of fanboy warfare, and thus is overrated. The greater this effect, the greater the overrating. So, while I could bring up Halo 3, one title stands out above and beyond in this criterion. It is...
Metal Gear Solid 4.
Is it a good to great title on the PS3? Yes. But, it is used by Sony fanboys as a "This is the Best Game Eva!" (likely because it is a PS3 exclusive now) and XBox fanboys taunting they are getting it. In no way does the game deserve this level of discussion. The story is convoluted, and inaccessible. It is full of internal dialog that panders to fanboys of the series who take it as supposedly high level storytelling and commentary on the state of war. What it is, is actually some action spliced between obscenely LONG cutscenes used to mask installs onto the harddrive. It is made out to be far more than it is, thus overrated. I could push for Killzone 2 here, but there isn't the level of taunting going on with it.
This being said, if you have a PS3, it belongs on your list of games to consider getting.
I'd say Final Fantasy VII. Heralded as the best RPG ever, maybe even the best game ever...it's one of the worst games I've ever played.

SSBB Friend Code = 5455-9050-8670 (PM me if you add so I can add you!)
Tetris Party Friend Code = 116129046416 (ditto)
