Forums - Nintendo - What kind of game would you make for Wii Balance Board?

Challenging haha XD.

Serious this reminds me of a person who said the bad controls of Lair are challenging XD.

Still for a fighting game it would be hard to make it a good one, the most fighting games
charatcters kick and stomp you ten times in less than two seconds, you will lose a lot of
calories to do that with the Wii remotes and the balanceboards _X.

Well, I had that idea thinkining about sitting while stomping on the Board rather than standing while stomping... (though the WiiBoard probably doesn't function like the way I'm putting it) But seriously, it doesn't look that hard to me if they make the control well. Let's give a combo for example, and imagine you are sitting, stomp your right foot, then left foot, and press A; or err, Press A, then B, then stomp left foot, then right foot, it doesn't that long to make it...

But like I said, think of it as a button on your controller...

The way how you telling it to me it sounds that I never can do two fights after each other (because I would be to tired) but sitting doesn't sounds fun but who am I to say that :s.

Well, the WiiBoard probably doesn't work that way but I'm interested in playing a game using both hands and foots relatively... But since WiiBoard came into existence because of WiiFit, and WiiFit is designed to keep people exercised, a fighting game with the option for WiiBoard could fit well for its original intended purpose. Of course, it should be provided only as an option, unlike what Lair did... However, even if I'm speculating something that's not quite what WiiBoard is, I'm still having rough idea of its possible capabilities. Plus, I'm only talking about fighting game. Who knows how much broader it can bring our way of gaming to? Although I may just overestimating it...

I don't think the Wii balance board can make the way of gaming broader.

I can see how the Wii remotes do it but not the balance board :s.

They will surprise me if they can.

Well, the main reason why you don't and I do is because I'm speculating what not the WiiBoard is ... Certainly what I said didn't look like the WiiBoard in the WiiFit video.

I do, however, hope that Miyamoto Shigeru will do more to the WiiBoard than just the image it gives when you look at the WiiFit trailer.

But to be honest, I can't see how WiiBoard is designed only for the WiiFit. Obviously, Miyamoto should have an idea of what it can do, or see the potential it can bring. Designing something like that just for 1 game sounds lame to me...

I still would like to know how the WiiBoard communicates with the Wii.

Because if it's Bluetooth, then it's taking the place of Wiimotes.

And therefore, games would suck, cause you could play snowboarding games with just the WiiBoard, but not shooter games with it.

Unless 2 WiiBoards take up 2 Bluetooth spots, and so then you can use 2 Wiimotes with them...there wouldn't be any 4 player games possible though...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

DDR on the Wii Board would kill it... literally.

Tony Hawk would be amazing. Or 1080°

Just a little FYI: I believe the Wii can pick up 7 different bluetooth frequencies. So 3 boards + 3 remotes would work.

I would make a rail shooter game where the balance board would be used for ducking, changing your view point (look left around a wall, look up). Instead of using the Wii Zapper, I would use two wiimotes for gangsta stlye firepower.

There's an arcade game which tracked the players position with a big sensor bar over the cabinet. It was called Police 9-1-1. I played it until my thighs ached from all the swaying and ducking.

I definately like the John Woo-style twin wiimote action. :)

I think the balance board could probably be integrated into some kind of boxing or fighting game. Something better than Wii Boxing, hopefully. :P
