Forums - Gaming - New game store chain: Gorilla games > better that Gamestop

we have a store called Game Craze (note, it isn't the same as the game stores within HollyWood Video) or something similar. When I try to google it I can't find it so I'm fairly sure it isn't a chain or anything.

They carry lots of old video games (nes, snes, genesis) you name it, they probably have it.

However, they don't have a very good selection of used games on the consoles I'm interested in, and when they do they are priced about the same as gamestop, so I only really go in there when I can't find a used copy anywhere else.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I have a store like that in Toronto, actually a couple of stores like that. Are you sure Gorilla games is a chain?

I'm going to take a guess...Game Center?

I do shop at game center but the store I really mean is called A & C games located just south of Spadina Station, trust me that place is retro heaven!

Ah, I've been there too. I got kinda soured though, after they tried to sell me Tales of Destiny II (PS1) with no manual and worn discs for $99.99 a few years ago...

I've been thinking about finally re-buying a SNES, so I'll probably head there first.

I typically stay away from the PSone collection, most of the time I get ps2 from there, about 2/3 of my ps2 game library is thanks to them.

They can't be much worse. I went to Gamestop the other day and bought Madworld and House of the Dead: Overkill for my Wii. They came out to about $106. I decided that I'd bought way too many games in a short period of time, so I returned Madworld. I had the game for about 20 minutes. I gave the clerk the game, the debit card, and the receipt. He said it would take a couple days for the return to show up on my card. A couple of days later, I checked. They gave me back $49.99 for the game. They pocketed the $3 tax!! Those bastards!

And that's my Gamestop bashing for the month.

This must happen only in high crime areas or if you don't have an Edge Card. I've heard of such a thing before, but I've seen lots of people trade in games and none of them ever have to do anything but hand it over.

Wow that's horrible. As a Gamestop employee for 2 and a half years now, I've never had to fingerprint anyone. Are you on a wanted poster or something?

Kyliedog beat me to the question on how long it would take GS to buy them out. Remember the days when there were EB Games and Funcoland as competing companies? It sure was nice to have competition in this industry.
