Forums - Sales - Five BETTER reasons why 360 will have a longer life span than PS3

1. Basically doesn't exist in Japan.....360 isn't going to survive forever with only 2 markets effectively helping it.

2. M$s first party. Does it even exist anymore?

3. As PS3 sales continue to grow, tossing money at every 3rd party isn't going to keep them from developing on the PS3, because it's just lost sales

4. Doesn't matter if Sony's games don't put up Halo-like numbers. I'm sure many gamers would like to have a plethora of high quality games that sell just 2-3 million, than have a *couple* games that sell 9 million. Like Sony has always said, they don't invest in one game as their "identity" but put out games for just about everyone. Nintendo = Mario, M$ = Halo, Sony = ? and that's in a good sense

5. PSN has become/is a viable platform for online gaming, and it's free. And if gamers want to buy something, they choose when to buy it, not paying $50 up front.

1. Two markets make up for the poor sales in Japan. The gap is 8 million consoles and growing.

2. Well they published a lot of games PS3 owner would love to have.

3. They don't need them to stop developing for the PS3. But if you can get the same games on a cheaper console why buy the PS3?

4. Sony doesn't have an option because their game don't have outstanding sales. Although you know Sony is hoping Gran Turismo sells like 10 million.

5. Free is great... but it cost money to offer those services you know. I bet Sony is currently mapping out how they will charge for online play on the PS4. Microsoft has proven there is a lot of money to be made doing so.

1. That's not going to work in the long run, because Japan is still important. Lack of Japanese support will show in some form later

2. Like what? Halo? Gears? Everything else is moot.

3. Why get a PS3? Because, yes it may be more expensive, but I'd play the more expensive console, with the same 3rd party titles, but also has the more appealing set of GUARANTEED exclusives, in the form of the 1st and 2nd parties. Not to mention GUARANTEED variety too.

4. Sony doesn't have an option to own several different development studios that ALL put out high quality games? Ok, kiddo

5. Planning on how to charge for PSN on the PS4? You ever heard of microtransactions? Didn't Sony earn like $1 million the week Home opened publicly?

1.Japan isnt important.

2.Mass Effect is "moot" what the hell ever it is,stupid word,Left4dead is moot? Ok just like how many PS exclusives are moot?

3.Gears and Halo are first party.

4.I agree with you.

5.Home may be great but Live draws in WAY more money than Home is/will,and some PS3 games require a PAYMENT option.

reason why the 360 is going to get hammered when the ps3 price is cut worldwide:

because its already cheaper than the damn wii and it only outsells it 30k worldwide every week. all ps3 needs is a $10 price cut and it will be ahead of the 360. heres looking forward to microsoft cutting the 360 price to $1 and then boasting about how they outsold the ps3 by 10 units every day hahah, the only one laughing is nintendo!

Funny how 30K a week became a gap of 8+ million consoles.

...

Are you serious ?

You do understand that the 360 was release A WHOLE YEAR before the PS3 right ?

At one point the gap was 6 million... now its 8 million.

Okay, so the 360 managed to get back the 2 millions they lost when Sony closed the gap last year. What's your point ?

I clearly recall you saying that the 30k (which is a very small amount anyway) got them a 8 million.

1. America has sold the double the consoles and Others is doing just fine. This is the worst selling Sony console in Japan might I add.

2. Halo and Gears is bigger than anything Sony will release. A game as big as those could really help the PS3 move hardware.

3. Like I already said, 1st and 2nd party games aren't really moving the hardware. They get their best sales from bundles.

4. Sony would love to have a game that's as popular as Gears and Halo. But their games always fall short of that.

5. Well whatever PSN earned just remember Live earned much much more. And they didn't have to charge publishers for bandwidth.

But when will gap stop growing? If Sony doesn't start dropping some prices the gap will be 10 million.

This thread is becoming a train wreck. So much for the five "better" reasons.

Sony fanboys wrecked it just like Sony wrecked the success PS3 should have had.

fail thread.

you are wrong from the beginning the ps3 won't cost 399-499$ always, there is going to be a price cut?
soon probably not, but they will be one.

Well as long as the console cost $399-499 the 360 will continue to sell more. So come back when we have info on that.
