1. Two markets make up for the poor sales in Japan. The gap is 8 million consoles and growing. 2. Well they published a lot of games PS3 owner would love to have. 3. They don't need them to stop developing for the PS3. But if you can get the same games on a cheaper console why buy the PS3? 4. Sony doesn't have an option because their game don't have outstanding sales. Although you know Sony is hoping Gran Turismo sells like 10 million. 5. Free is great... but it cost money to offer those services you know. I bet Sony is currently mapping out how they will charge for online play on the PS4. Microsoft has proven there is a lot of money to be made doing so. |
1. That's not going to work in the long run, because Japan is still important. Lack of Japanese support will show in some form later
2. Like what? Halo? Gears? Everything else is moot.
3. Why get a PS3? Because, yes it may be more expensive, but I'd play the more expensive console, with the same 3rd party titles, but also has the more appealing set of GUARANTEED exclusives, in the form of the 1st and 2nd parties. Not to mention GUARANTEED variety too.
4. Sony doesn't have an option to own several different development studios that ALL put out high quality games? Ok, kiddo
5. Planning on how to charge for PSN on the PS4? You ever heard of microtransactions? Didn't Sony earn like $1 million the week Home opened publicly?
