Forums - Gaming - FPS game idea...

What if the US went ahead w/ Operation Downfall and invaded Japan in WWII on X-Day?  There would be millions of more dead US forces and tens of millions of Japanese dead incl children ordered to bonzai charge GIs with bamboo spears.  Battlefield nukes would be used and soldiers would fight in radiated zones.  It would be hell x100.

Anyone think this is a good concept?

Whilst it is truly sick that you think about these things, that would make an awesome FPS if done by a talented and well-funded team.

As long as its not on rail fps like COD4 and WaW,make it like Bia:HH a little bit of room to move around but you still gotta go to the objective, not all hall ways,i would like to see a game where you can be the germans,no not the nazi but the normal german who works to bring food home for his fam.

The Sims: German Edition?

Anyways, I still like WW2 shooters, but I think devs are tired of it, and considering how many complaints CoD5 got for goin back to it, they might be even less motivated now.

Still though, I thought CoD5's campaign was weak compared to CoD1/2.....that's where the real epic battles were.

somewhat similar to the idea in turning point (which is an awful game btw, don't ever play it.)  turning point is another what if wwII scenarios that has america never declaring war.  Europe is conquered by germany and america ends up getting invaded by the germans and has to defeat them on their own territory.

Yeah, it's sick to think of that, but throwing 2 nukes on it would be even sicker, luckily they didn't do that one!

Oh wait.... Scrap that.

it would be awesome if the US version let you play the US army and the UK version let you play the UK army and the Japanese version let you play the Japanese army. and everyone of them has a different story based on the version , and if its online it would be a blast (no pun intended)

Truly sick...this pitch is coming from a former game art/design and presently comp sci student.  I see the game  before I write down a concept and it is an excellent 1.  As for the "dying" WWII genre, no one has covered Op Downfall.
