Forums - Gaming - 360 blog.org, top 10 best consoles

I agree with that list, but I think the Atari shouldn't be on that list, my opinion.

Well, the Atari 2600 sold like the PS2 of its day -- its 30M was 5x its nearest competitors.

It also had over 500 different games available.

And it essentially defined video gaming from the 1977 to 1983.

Plus, it stands in sharp contrast to the Atari 5200 on the 10 worst console list.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Consistently advertising your own website on vgChartz is not cool.

Why is this different then linking to IGN or any other site? When I write something I would like everyone to see it, comment, question, complain. This is a gaming site and Im writing about games. And yes 360blog.org is my site but I dont see why thats a problem when linking my articles on here.

Plus Im an advertising student and Im learning ways to get things around everywhere :p

I'm perfectly fine with you advertising your own work. Keep up the good work!

So it's not against the policy to use vgChartz to give our websites free hits (as it is on 99% of internet forums)?  Cool.

Yes, it is. if it doesn't actually adds something to the site.

But this is a member that is on VGC for quite some time and is a respected one as well. I don't want people spamming the site with loads of threads about every other blog, but a relevant thread from a respected member is fine with me.

I don't see another "Top X" list as adding anything.  Digg and Reddit are filled with them and another 3 seem to come out weekly.  To me a "Top X" list shows a lack of creativity and only serves to generate website hits.  Sometimes I think that's how IGN and the rest fill out their "slow" weeks.  YMMV.

I also don't like the "respected member" bit.  One member shouldn't have more privileges than another and that's exactly what you're suggesting there.

I agree with the first one, but I think the PS2 should be higher and that in a couple of years the PS3 and Wii should have a place on the list. The x360 shouldn't be any were near this list, IMO. The Wii for it's comercial success and the PS3 for being a terrific piece of hardware, with amazing games.

Ya it'll definitely be interesting to see what a list like this would look like 5 years from now. In the case of the Wii, it'll really go one of two ways, either it'll simply be a commercial success, but never really reach it's potential in terms of really innovative motion-control based games. Or people will be hailing it as one of the greatest consoles ever with a slew of revolutionary titles which the ps3 and 360 couldn't compete with.

As for the ps3, if it does end this gen in 3rd place, it might find itself on a similiar list in the dreamcast style position. Never really reached commercial success, but had a cult-like following by some who swear it was the greatest thing ever.

@SuperDave, like I said, it's too early to tell, hence waiting a couple of years. But Nintendo should be the one to launch THE Wii title, like a new Zelda or new IP, besides the Wii titles. (not the 3rd parties, or else it will flop)

lol the gizmondo only released 8 games and costed $400! haha

PS1 and PS2 software beasts, both well into 4 figures for total games! PS2 should be the top pick although i appreciate Playstation being #2.
