Forums - Gaming - Why would anyone but Wii owners care about The Conduit?

Wow you really are stuck in la la land aren't you? The masses also love T-pain and Lil Wayne so I guess they are the pinnacle of musical excellence according to your goofy logic.

You know people actually like that music right? With that said they buy what they like.

If I went by your logic the Wii is the shittiest console because it sold the most.

^^ That's not the issue at hand, making the assumption that dual analogue is better for FPS because they are more popular on HD systems is. Do you think perhaps there might be some other factors to consider? That kind of logical leap is analogous to me claiming power over the sun because it rises each day at the same time i do.

Okay... factors. Perhaps people who primarily play FPS games think the Wiimote is gay. Obviously the best FPS games are better on HD consoles. However the HD market may not be as intrigued by the Wiimote. I had a Wii and I hated it... I can't be the only one.

Now I await the response of a Wii fanboy... letting me know I am the only one.

Now that actually makes some kind of sense, but it has nothing to do with the Wii-mote.  It does however bring us to the heart of the issue at hand.  The Wii has seen several FPS with excellent control but it still hasn't really seen a FPS that brings all the elements that make a great game together.  This is why people are excited about The Conduit, it has the POTENTIAL to be that game.

p.s. I'm curious what FPS games you played on the Wii because as someone else said, they don't all have good control.

Come on guys... just ignore the troll!!

On the other hand, at least he is helping to advertise this game by keeping this thread high. Keep on going :)

 Its called

splitfish Frag FX2 Controller (PS3)

Thats much better than using the Wiimote for FPS's

You forgot to mention that it's better than a gamepad.  Splitfish is basically a mouse, with some nice analog movement instead of a keyboard.

Controller superiority still stands as follows:

Mouse > Wiimote > Gamepad

Thats totally subjective. I find the Wiimote unresponsive. I think that the gamepad is more reliable and stable for FPS's..But of course the mouse beats both. I highly recommend controller Splitfish controller, its only 70euro so i guess is $70 in US. I've used it with COD4, R2 & killzone2..plays like a dream

For no reason. It looks like a generic shooter.

By that standard, there are very few shooters people could get excited about.

Besides, The Conduit is certainly not a generic shooter. Its controls alone ensure that. It could still be a crappy shooter, but certainly not a generic one.

What is so special about the controls on TC? Isn't that pretty much the same as any other wii-fps:s?

As far as I know, it's the first Wii-exclusive FPS, and it's not like there are lots of good Wii FPS games in the first place.

Some Wii FPSs don't have multiplayer (or at least not good multiplayer), so for most Wii owners this will feel like a new experience. if the game has good quality, it will certainly stand out as a special game.

Considering FPS games sell better on consoles with dual analog... I guess the masses have spoken.

Do you mind showing some evidence of this? Even if you do, there are other things to consider, ramant piracy on the PC, as well as hurdles that make a console more attractive to game on (price, ease of use, not needing to know if your graphics card can handle it and a one-shoe fits all setting for graphics etc.).

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Metroid prime?

Did you notice that the topic of this thread is other than wii owners? Are you saying that they should care about TC because of... online multiplayer? Wow.

No kidding people like that music.  I don't have a problem with people liking that music.  However, you can't claim that the music is a better quality to something else just because it sells more.  Selling the most doesn't mean something is quality just as much as it doesn't mean something isn't.

I'm not a troll... this is a discussion and people are giving me their opinions as if they're fact.

Eitherway if the Conduit is a good game I hope it sells. But I'm expecting an average game at best.

He was propably talking about consoles. I guess you can find the evidence by yourself from this site.
