I may be in the minority, but what is the Conduit even about? From what I have picked up about it it is a FPS that looks really good on the Wii. I indirectly own a Wii and am not really that into this game at all.

Well it's not even out yet, so we don't know a lot about it besides it's about a conspiracy story based on secret goverment agency and space aliens.  It's assumed by many that it will be good, but as others have pointed out HVS hasn't really had a real strong title before, and so the developer might be over stating the quality.

If it helps, think of it as a combination of Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4, with a little Ratchet & Clank thrown in.  Then scale that back a little or you may be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Well, your description makes me think not of Duke Nukem, as someone wrote, nor of what you wrote, but of Half-Life! Nothing wrong about it, anyway, I liked very much both the Duke and Half-Life.

Yeah...  does better remind me of a cross between duke nukem and half-life too...  However, I was trying to go only by games in hist list of owned games, assuming he likes those games... Either way, it's hard to say until it's out and we can actually play it.

So this is one of those games that boasts nothing new and just a combination of other ones then? Unless I am mistaken there have been recent games that got docked because of that. I actually do own half life and all the ones after it. Don't get me wrong I like Half life, but if that is what The Conduit is like then I think it is a pass then. Maybe one of my roomates will get it for their Wii and then I can watch them play it and if I seem interested play it for free. This kind of seems like one of those games that people are hyping that could be setting themselves up for disappointment.

Nothing new?  The controls are new!

Ok you got me there. To tell you the truth I keep forgetting that the Wii actually has different controls. I have not played on a Wii for a really long time as I am not really a fan of the controls. But for a shooter on the Wii the controls are not new. There have been many other shooters out on the Wii that have used the new controls. So my point still stands.

Not (for the Wii) to the same degree with the HUD customization and control configuration, but there is also the PC which has some games that are extremely customizable...

What about the A.S.E.?  Is that new enough for you?

if you want to play something new and refreshing, pick up the conduit. The only other fps im looking forward to is Modern Warfare 2.

But, to be honest, The Conduit is the only shooter for 09 I'm interested in so far. Unless, of course, Valve decides to put a surprise release on Episode 3.

@Agardini: It should easilly reach million, two if it manages to deliver.

Madworld doesn't really have nothing to do with Conduit. I'd look for Redsteel, RE4 and COD and base sales expectations to those games sales. Decent shooters have done well on Wii, but nothing really outstanding.
It's really hard to estimate how much Conduit can sell, if it turns out to be good, since so far Wii haven't had a good exclusive (not dumbed down version or port) FPS.

Brand new trailer:

I really like the look of the ASE.

@richardhutnik: Your original post uses very narrow reasoning and assumes that the primary factor that makes a FPS game 'up to date' is the graphics. For anybody who is interested in controls and gameplay, The Conduit is interesting because it offers both while still pushing out respectable visuals. For all you people who seem to think graphics are what defines gaming, maybe you should just watch a movie with great special effects and drool, while I enjoy games based on gameplay and fun. Graphics are cool, but they are not the only factor for most of us.

My problem with The Conduit is this game hasn't even come out and Wii owners are hyping this to be one of the greatest games ever. I never give my thoughts on a game before its release because who knows what it will actually play like.

...

So you have a problem with people getting excited for a game? That's why you seem to be trying to argue that it's going to be a bad game? Don't like seeing other people enjoy themselves? Geez, get a life.

I don't get excited for a game that hasn't been released. Especially one that comes from two companies known for releasing crap after crap title. I'm not arguing its going to be a crap game, I'm just saying why don't you wait for some reviews before you get all hot and bothered about it?

I wasn't trying to relate Madworld to The Conduit. I was just trying to point out that Madworld was hyped a lot and did not deliver very well. I was trying to say that I hope The Conduit does not end up the same way, i.e. as in being hyped up a lot and then not selling at all.

End of 2009 sales predictions:

PS3 - 33 Million     360 - 40 Million    Wii - 75 Million

@Agardini: Well, Madworld isn't very appealing game anyway. It's visually kind of bad due to being B&W, the games idea seems to basing to excessive violence and the genre isn't that popular. It's easy to see why Madworld didn't top the charts.

Conduit will sell well if it's a good game. If they manage with the single player and online multiplayer will deliver, i don't see anything that would prevent Conduit from selling well, especially when the game is in a popular genre that sells well across the platforms.

I wouldnt say that all their titles have been crap. I rather enjoyed Hunters: The Reckoning on GC, but mostly for the 4 player quest that it was. =)
