Forums - Nintendo - Sonic vs the Black Knight

My god is the fight against the Black Knight (as normal Sonic) annoying. Can't quite get the pattern for those QTE's down. I'm also a little annoyed by the fact that i was able to get there in about 2.5 hours of gameplay, though it still seems i've barely scratched the surface of what the game has to offer (haven't touched sword customization, ranking missions, and alternate characters, aside from what i imagine to be multiple new missions)

I certainly haven't lost my temper like that in a long time. Damn are those QTE's frustrating.

Thoughts?

First..whats your opinion of the game. I havnt picked it up yet

I also found that part frustrating I died so many times trying to get the QTE's down. I haven't played in a while but all I know is that the QTE's with the Wii remote shaking quickly you should actually time it and strike right before they appear on screen. Or something like that.

That's just the thing, i haven't played it long enough. 2.5 hours does not allow you to gather the best opinion. For the most part, i like it, except for the boss battles. The combat in the stages flows smoothly, and they fixed a lot of the problems of Secret Rings, but now my joy is bottlenecked by this damn fight

does anyone enjoy quick time events? I hate thoes things but they're becoming far more common.

You have to go only through two series of six QTEs on that boss fight. The second series is more difficult, but both patterns always remain the same each time you play the boss fight. The first series shouldn't be hard to pass, just swing the Wiimote once when the icon appears on the screen.

The second series gives you less time to react, so learn the pattern. As far as I remember you have to swing immediately again after the fourth swing which is the part that would give the most problems because you don't have actually the time to react.

I fast learned that they were the same every time. It's just a matter of the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it.

I'll just leave this here...

You must swing twice before you can start using perfect hits.  Wait for your sword to glow before you swing.  You won't have to bother with the second set of QTE's :D

Yeah, the second QTE is more about memorization than following the actual strike signals. I was a little frustrated as well (and I rarely get frustrated ) but don't give up on it.

Just remember that when Matt said he finished the game... he didn't finish the game.

Now go get that scabbard!

Thanks Shizlee

I am borrowing this game from a friend and going to start it tonight.

Should be interesting.
