LOL....yea useless, think before actually saying something about someone posts...k? and yes I own a DS I had my DS since Pokemon was released. I put it down for 2 weeks and never returned to it. Now its just sitting in my sister room who is 15 years old who rarely plays it. She plays Nintendogs more than Pokemon. duh?

He didnt say you didnt own a ds, he asked if you played pokemon and since your over 17 (im guessing your over 17 x] ) you answered your own question seriously lawl.

Don't worry, I'm 14 and I don't play it either. I had the copy of it but haven't returned to it after playing for a few weeks... But, I know someone older than 17 who likes it a lot, been a fan of Pokemon since a kid. But, to each his own... A game created can't be like by everyone, there's bound someone who dislikes it or finds it uninteresting.

With that said, Pokemon is probably not a gimmick... and Yes, there're people over seventeen who still play it. And possibly someone WAY older than that play it?

 oh theres alot of people who do. I dont play it alot im  ..14 i only play it when someone wants to wifi. Well darnit you should atleast get some new ds games. Your post wasnt useless :0.

I love this game, the graphcis are great, and the gameplay is fun, I hope it outsells every other pokemon game. One of the best games on the ds.

i know a girl who is now 21 who likes pokemon, i haven't seen her in a while so dunno if she has d/p, but i would guess yes.
i also have a friend [male] who likes pokemon still, but he hasn't bought any new games since N64 so he wont be buying it, but playing on old pokemon still counts.

considering i only know 6 or 7 people who game 2 of them playing pokemon is quite significant, so just because in your personal opinion its crap doesnt make it a gimmick. i have never even played pokemon but by the fact that each successive set [gold/silver, diaond/pearl etc] sells over 10 mil WW i can see the games are not just great, but excellent [might not be to my tastes though]

There are a lot of extra stuffs in it. The battle system (I may word this one wrong) is complexed as well (due to variety of pokemons, skills, and other elements), but the turn-based, choose-1-out-of-the-4-skills-your-pokemon-has battle is kinda a downside...
