Landing on April 1st it was largely dismissd as just another Aprils fools but turns out it was real!

An early workprint version (near DVD quality) with incomplete special effects and missing the January re-shoot scenes was reviewed by Roger Friedman, a freelance columnist who writes Fox 411 on Foxnews.com (who has now been fired!).  He downloaded the film in its 95% complete state and then went on to say how he was intending to download another film and review it!

There have been many problematic production stories about this film including speculation over the January re-shoots because the film was not meeting Fox's expectations, a studio renowned for its interfearing execs.

Many fans will have high hopes for the film and will be keen to see how it fits in with the X-Men films.  Will it be better or worse than X3?.....

Well in the review Friedman writes :

"It’s miles easier to understand than "The Dark Knight," and tremendously more emotional." and "I am, in fact, amazed about how great "Wolverine" turned out.  It exceeds expectations at every turn."

Has anyone seen it?

It's absolutely HORRIBLE! The story was weak, the end was beyond lame and the acting could have been (a lot) better. Don't even get me started on Deadpool.

I consider the person who leaked that turd a true hero, he risked his future in the industry and his freedom to save people from wasting their time and money on that atrocity.

I heard a lot of bad things. I don't feel compelled to watch it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

I've heard nothing but overwhelmingly negative things about it. Even though I work at a theater and see movies for free, I still may have to pass.

I honestly don't think its possible that this could be worse than X3, even if they tried.

And this is the workprint. Its missing a lot of stuff that will be in the final release. Many of the scenes are not the final edit.

I thought it was shit.

Twentieth Century-Fox already gave us two mega turds this year in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li and Dragonball Evolution I don't think this can be that much worse.

Read this very entertaining review for Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li:

http://www.aintitcool.com/?q=node/40266

"Some movies are so terrible that they transcend the mortal realm of what was intended and instead become something so spectacular that you dare not blink for fear of missing a second. They are movies that make you cry out in glee and howl at the screen as each attempt at being cool or funny or inventive instead fails, tripping over itself time and again in a series of blunders so magnificent that it defies every expectation. And as you’ve probably guessed by now, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li is just such a picture. A moist, gaping hole of sanity, this film is repeatedly fucked by its own incompetence, its mind numbingly awful script, and its complete and utter inability to even sustain its own logic."

As for Wolverine: There is 10-15 minutes of extra footage to be added, I know some of this is to do with the Deadpool character but nothing is gonna save this movie. The final edit will add some minimal shine to it but you cannot polish a turd!

I didn't find it awful but it was quite boring and unexciting at its best is was ok for short periods.

I refuse to see it because I know they're just going to fuck with the story and universe.

I know this because from the trailer alone they have the White Queen, who wasn't around in the Weapon-X days, turn into her diamond form which didn't even happen until New X-Men.
