Forums - Sony - New Sony walkman:Ipod shuffle killer?

I am very interested in the Sony touch Walkman that was also revealed at CES this year!

It is going to retail for £199.99 for the 16GB one and the £249.99 for the 32GB one! Mad pricing but for 32GB i think that is not too bad, considering that the iPod Touch at 16GB retails for £213.00 on the same site!

If I can genuinely drag-and-drop from iTunes onto this, I will buy one tomorrow.

the player support drag and drop files but from itunes probably not, itunes its apple closed.

as stated above, some files are not protected right now very soon no file will be protected. if you have protected files and want them on another player burn them to a cd itunes strips its own drm when burned to a cd. there are software based rippers but those are not legal the cd method is.

If you know which tracks/albums in your posession are not protected (music bought from the plus/ cd imported what ever else) just drag and drop the folder they are stored in generaly in application data folder though depending on your instilation of windows the folder can be anywhere but its normally quite large. the main itunes folder will have subfolders in it. it used to be by band, but i think it can be diffrent now.

as i said just burn them to cd, itunes strips its drm when burned to cd. you can even use cd rw if you dont want to waste blank cds

None of my files have DRM. I wasn't asking that at all anyway.

I was asking - do you drag&drop from the iTunes folder (I guess so) or from the actual iTunes application.

Never mind...

Unfortunately IPod has this market cornered... it annoys me but its true. I'd much rather have a decent walkman or zune but its just so easy to go with ipod due to docking stations and the like.... cant plug a walkman or zune into this little beauty can you.....

I love the B&W Zeppelin... awesome piece of kit!!  sounds and looks superb.
