We all know the 360 D-Pad is utter shite. I'm just curious why, you'd think MS would have learnt from the original Xbox that it was awful...Heck, most people didn't like the PS1 controller back in the day compared to the Saturn but it (as well as the PS3's D-Pad) is a million times better than the complete rubbish that we have to put up with.

What happened to that special edition version that was supposed to be released of the 360 controller in time with PES 2009? Did it even get released?

The D-Pad is fine, if you have a problem with it its because you have a problem with yourself.

hmmmm....I played gears 2 on my friends 360 and took me a while to get use to it but i eventually got the hang of it but when we played SF4 on his 360 I can't do combos properly but when I play SF4 on my ps3 I do it with ease.

I would assume this.  Nintendo and Sony already took the best d-pad designs and likely have them patented up the hizzo.

I don't really use the D-Pad on the 360, PS3, Xbox, PS2, but when I do use them, they all work fine for me...

Because that's what they wanted to design it like.....

All controllers have bad/mediocre D-Pads, its seriously not a priority anymore. For the people who do care for fighting games, you can get fighting pads/sticks. For people who don't you probably won't notice anythings wrong with the stock pads anyway.
