Not entirely, I could see myself using it to talk to certain people. I use Steam's messaging system to do the same thing in and out of game.

Just that the thing against this system on PSN is that you'd need the dual shock keypad or regular keyboard to get use out of it.

Seriously, its an IM service, which is far easier for communication. Funny how you havnt criticised VGC for being stupid when they recently added IM to the site.
Its also the basis for cross game voice chat so give it a rest

Live has MSN Messenger support to text chat during movies, games, etc. However I don't know anyone who actually uses it

the text chat is pretty useful fo planning out stuff before a clan match.

and how is LIVE better than PSN??? can you have lag-free 32-player battles on LIVE? no you can't, so how's live better when it does the main objective of online gaming worse??

Actually, that is the developer's choice to use P2P or dedicated servers.

Personally, I think text chat is somewhat useless. I could see myself using it once in awhile though.
