People aren't born gay, they definately pick it up at some point in their life. Its up to the parents to prevent this.

Yeah of course. I for one picked it up at Walmart, it was on sale what can I say.

Don't be ridiculous, you can't "pick up" who you're attracted to. What could have possibly motivated me to pick being gay?

I don't know maybe one hot summer day you were sitting on a lawn chair while your pool boy Carlos was cleaning your pool wearing nothing but his Speedo, and you had never been so attracted to another man. You went up and took him in your arms..and from that moment on you knew you preferred the same sex.

I don't think there's a gay gene. What kind of advantages would having a gay gene give? The whole purpose of a species is to reproduce and continue its existence on earth. Having a gay gene would be kind of counterproductive to that. There may be genes that a person obtains that would make them more likely to be gay than another person, but I don't think sexuality falls on alleles.

The battle for right regarding marriage is much more about civil marriage rather than church recognized one.
And as for picking it up, for most of the modern history it's been a disadvantage. Why would people insist on picking it up?
I'm not sure where I stand on the gay gene thing. Probably not very convinced there is one.

I found this a very sickening and disturbing statement. Why the fuck should anyone be allowed to prevent someone from being gay? If you were gay and I tried to prevent you from being gay would you just lie back and accept it? It's that kind of reasoning that led to Alan turing to commit suicide, because people wanted to prevent him from being gay.

I don't even see how the parents would be able to prevent that, time and time the most they achieve is make their kid depressed.

The moment I knew I though I might be gay is when I saw two sexy boys kissing online, and instead of being discusted by it like usual, I found it attractive... When I was a little kid and saw gay men kissing, it was a gross moment.

Before that, I was straight, I was also quite a homphobe. I didn't have any problem with gay men doing what they did, but personally I did not like them, I used the word fag as an insult, and stuff like that..

Do you think society made me gay, or I would have turned out gay anyways? Society, especially grade school, made me a straight homophobe. But I think I was justing tricking myself, denying the fact that I was bi.

I really knew I was bisexual when I thought about the reason I like women. There is none. In fact I don't even like female boobs. I only ever liked girls because it was culturally acceptable. I'm attracted to humans in general, not just men or women... But I do like men more because they're just so sexy.

The issue is that we've blurred the lines between what marriage is (a union between a man and a woman, ordained by God) and a civil union (co-habitation with legal rights).

The issue is, marriage is not for you or religion to define.

It's for the government to define, and they shouldn't define it religiously.

What? That's like saying:

The issue is, god is not for you or religion to define.

It's for the government to define, and they shouldn't define it religiously.

Marriage is a product of religion. The problem is government recognizing marriage as anything, not that religion shouldn't define it.

I think that's a bad example, god is for the individual to define.

Also, marriage is not the product of religion. Go study some tribal peoples, lots of marriages have nothing to do with religion. Marriage is a product of the fact that women have children, and cultures usually think children need to be cared for by both their parents, thus there's a ceremony to ensure that. Or, marriage is to make sure we don't just all fuck like wild animals, by binding the man to the women before he can do her.

dude so ur saying ur gay!!!!!!!!!!???????
