Apparently because the Wii gets alot of PSP/PS2 ports, Sony has gotten the idea that by lowering the price and putting out more "casual" games like Sing Star, Buzz and MLB (evedentally because of Wii Sports all sports games are killer apps)  they can eat into Wii's sales. They say none of this will eat into sales of the PS3 and infact people who by a $100 PS2 might at some point buy a $400-$500 PS3.

I've heard this suggested on Forums that Sony should do this. Some internet forum posters must have gotten hold of Sony I guess.

Eh, no. The Wii is so much more powerful and has a better library than the PS2. I thin kit will hurt Ps3 and Xbox 360 sale more than Wii sales.

I suppose if you only include the new inventory at major retailers, that might be true...  is that what you mean?  I suppose that's a fair standpoint, if you are only considering "active" titles as the library.
