Please show the J man how you know weather the 360 games made a profit or not. The truth of the matter is ,Japanese dev will continue to support the 360 and the 360 will continue to be the 'king of jrpgs'.

Goodness me, are you all feeling retarded today or did you just skim read the OP? He said that FFXIII and GT5 will in theory help double the PS3's install base in Japan, and AFTER THAT it will have a base of 6-7 million, and assuming that to be the case, will Japanese devs still put JRPGs on 360?

Ok, J-Man or whatever you like to call yourself. I never said I 'knew' about profitability, hence my comments like 'Maybe' and 'I dunno.' I was really meaning any Japanese exclusive games, which I dont know whether there are any. I was simply making a suggestion, which could be possible.

He is arguing that the 360 will STAY at 1 million units forever....That's the issue. It's going to increase, just like the PS3 will. Will it stay at a 3:1 ratio? Probably not. But too suggest a 6:1 or 7:1 is just too high.

^ Well I can't really see the 360 moving too many units in that time. I mean, it's got to 1 mil in 3 years. And surely this upsurge for PS3 would have a negative effect on 360 sales as well, causing the 6:1 outcome to be possible (although no I dont think it is all that likely myself).

       I don't think so because Western developed PS3 exclusives like Uncharted, Killzone 2, multiplats like GTA IV (and the PS3 version from Capcom did tremendously better in Japan than did the 360 version), and exclusives from  Japanese companies on PS3 released in the West like Metal Gear Solid 4 have all shown that they can move a million to three million units in the West while in the last two gens no xbox game including exclusives from Namco's Tales Studio and from Square-Enix have sold more than 250,000 copies in Japan.

     Also, Western developed PS3 exclusives to come like Uncharted 2 and God of War III will also sell millions of units in the West as will the Japanese developed PS3 exclusive Gran Turismo 5.

What big games does the PS3 have that aren't going to drag it down into the 10k/wk category over the summer?

I'm not arguing that the 360 will move some fantastic number of units, but I don't see it moving so little as to allow the PS3 to achieve a 6:1 or 7:1 ratio.

So far, this year, the PS3 has sold 2.5:1 systems in Japan. In the same timespan in 2008 (Jan-Mar), the PS3 had a 6.6:1 gap.

So that gap has shrunk by 3 times in the last year...Not increased. I don't get the crazy logic that the PS3 is going to sell 6-7 million units even after the big hitters come out. It'll get a fantastic boost, but I don't see it selling as well as the PS3 fanboys want to argue.
