D-pad will still give PS3 version superiority.
CGI-Quality said:Namco: Tekken 6 on 360 will not be inferiorChristopher Reynolds 12:49, Thursday 2 April 2009 ![]() Tekken 6 director Katsuhiro Harada has said the 360 version of Namco's upcoming beat em' up will not be inferior to the PS3 version "We want to dispel any fears that fans might have that the 360 version will be inferior [to the PS3 version]," said Harada. "We are making progress every day and we're quite confident." Harada added that it has been a "big challenge" to develop Tekken 6 on the 360, as the game was originally designed for an arcade board based on similar architecture to the PS3. “We are making progress every day and we're quite confident” When it came to Sony's console, Harada said the potential of the PS3's hardware became more apparent during Tekken 6's development. "As far as [the PS3's] potential goes, this is something we really noticed when developing Bloodline Rebellion. In the Tekken Project, when we talk about dividing the processing we say to “SPU it”. If you use the SPU’s capabilities properly and optimize the code accordingly you can pull a lot out of the hardware." Harada previously said it was proving difficult to fit Tekken 6 onto a single DVD, and that the next iteration of the Xbox 360 could benefit from technology used in Tekken 6's development. Well that's good to know, at least make each version equal to please both fanbases. Every developer should be looking for ways to do away with inferior ports. What are your thoughts? |
Bullshit
Why do they keep coming out with this space issue? Everyone who knows anything about what takes up space on a disc knows that FMV is the only thing that is a concern. There isn't that much FMV on Tekken games, there would need to be more than an hours worth for it to even possibly be an issue at all and that's being generous.
Ridiculous crap that causes more stupid threads on sites like this from the ignorant and uninformed. I really wish they'd stop talking in layman's terms when they make these statements and give the readers some credit of intelligence!

I agree, how the hell do they need a FIFTY GIG! Disc for a FIGHTING Game?! They can put every single fighter from every fighing game in 1080p and STILL have 25 gigs left, they better include a 10 hour story for each person to do that much bragging.
it will sell more on ps3 i bet
You should be beaten, burned to ashes then someone should throw your ashes from a plane

Who said anything about 50GB? 360 discs can only hold 9GB, so if Tekken 6 was 9.1GB, it technically wouldn't fit
Just know that everytime a developer says "We're having trouble fitting the game on the 360 disc", it doesn't mean that they are filling up a Blu-ray

I was just about to say "Bring MkeB in here he can make anything happen" but i see you responded.
Also FYI 360 games can only be 6.8 gigs,so if its 6.9 then it wont fit :)
hard to fit on a single DVD ???
this means one thing and one thing only : HD MOVIES for all fighters !!!!!
SWEETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Above all else, there is a high probability that the PS3 version will support 5.1/7.1 LPCM. That will take up a good chunk of a Blu-ray disc.
Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.
They're probably going to release just the game on one disk, and then have all the cutscenes on another disk.
During parts of the game, the game will stop and say "please switch disks". At this point you'll put in the cutscene disk and watch a clip. "Oh! Cool! Wow, this is totally awesome!" (done in my best Eric Cartman impersonation possible).
Then it will inform you to put the game back in and keep on playing.
