Forums - Microsoft - Is this X360 exclusive Fall 2009 lineup enough to battle Sony?

^ i was joking about romania my point was if there was a bundle it woulda been in a small market

I'm sure more games will be announced at E3

who cares

if you as an xbox360 owner are happy with it ,then that's all that matters.

to me from that list i would be only interested in alan wake.(so even that line up for me is underwhelming compared to PS3 line up ,,,but we have different tastes and that's what makes this industry thrive)

This^

Do 360 fans in this thread believe that a game announced in June at E3 will ship before december?

Uncharted 2 alone is better than the 360 fall line up. Eh, I dunno about that; I think it needs more to stand up. It'll be great, I'm sure, but I'm looking forward to other games (R&C) more. =) Heavy Rain looks unreal and will not be a "haze". New R & C looks good. We don't know anything about MAG though.

MS heavily relies on 3rd party exclusives because they don't have the first party strength that Sony does.

Sure, you won't see footage of Modern Warfare 2 until June, and that's going to outsell every PS3 exclusive.

No, Uncharted is another Resistance/Motorstorm, excessively bundled, then the sequel tries to stand on its own and fails massively. I believe that R:FoM was not excessively bundled... It was bundled a lot, but a lot of its sales are from being one of the few quality launch titles. Motorstorm, yeah, it was bundled a lot. A whole lot. As for the sequels failing massively, Resistance 2 has sold 1.54 million which is pretty good, and Motorstorm: PR has sold .63 million, which isn't as great, and kind of is a fail. =)

Heavy Rain has bomb written all over it, it's a Quantic Dream game and it's a 1st party PS3 game, both of which have a history of underperforming at retail. 1st party PS3 games underperform? Really? Motorstorm (which we can agree was heavily bundled) sold 3.47 million. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (not as heavily bundled) sold 2.32 million. LittleBigPlanet has sold 2.13 million. Feel free to look up the rest. Granted, they may not sell as well as some multiplat games, but those are huge, and the games I listed are new IPs for this generation.

If anything MS 1st party is well ahead of Sonys, Forza is a bigger series than anything Sonys launching this year and Halo is in a league of its own, that#s the PS3's biggest problem. A lack of blockbusters, it's mostly fillers, Sony just likes to pretend it's blockbuster. They may not be your definition of blockbusters, but they can certainly hold their own. That, and Halo and Forza were both on the Xbox, so they've had longer to build up a fanbase.

This.

PS3 fans said this last year with LBP, R2, Motorstorm 2, Socom but they all got outsold badly by MS exclusives. Yes, but they didn't do poorly by any means.

I agree on the sales front. But NOT on the quality front. Very much so. =)

I'm sorry but calling Uncharted and Heavy Rain are  NOT fillers. They are blockbuster games. I dunno about Heavy Rain, but I'd definitely agree with Uncharted.

Even Res and Motorstorm are worthy of beeing called good titles. But dont put down quality titles. :) They are, as are their sequels.

My responses are in the green. =)

Yeah i doubt the 360 will get one game announcement at E3.

/sarcasm

I don't think anybody doubts MS will announce several games at E3. Most companies announce games at E3 that get released one or two years later.

Microsoft likes to only annouce game that are coming out that year. Unlike sony whom announce games that will come out 3 years later.

Mass Effect 2

Huxley

Fable 2

Alan Wake

Splinter Cell?

Yeah Sony's the only one that does that /Sarcasm

MS didnt announce any of those, the 3rd party devs did.

if GT5 comes out this fall no x360 can beat that

MS seems to intend to give up on gaming :
- they cut jobs in gaming divisions
- they're closing their only few studios
- they don't announce any exclusive anymore
- they don't buy any timed exclusive anymore

I think they're right since there's no way their lineup could compete with the PS3 lineup anyway considering their lack of studios.

With a big install base, 360 should end its life well anyway, since even with no game there will be many people buying the cheapest console.

This thread is bad enough, please stop trolling.
