After these holidays the numbers will be more like this:
Total Cost = $1,950

Xbox 360 - $350
Xbox 360 Controller - $40
Hexic HD - Free
Aegis Wing - Free
Forza Motorsport - $8
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - $8
Project Gotham Racing - $3
Project Gotham Racing 2 - $3

TOTAL COST - $412

TOTAL GAMES - 6

$/Game - $68.66

But I didn't buy my 360 just for games; I also use it as a Media Center Extender (which cost $80 for the original Xbox). With this factored in:

TOTAL COST - $332

TOTAL GAMES - 6

$/Game - $55.33

And it's going down... (I don't buy new games)

Systems owned: Nintendo 64, GameCube, Xbox 360, Atari 7800, Genesis, PlayStation, Dreamcast, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS.

Year-end predictions (April 6, 2008):

  • DS: 94 million (96.0)
  • Wii: 46 million (44.4)
  • PSP: 45 million (43.6)
  • X360: 27 million (27.3)
  • PS3: 24 million (19.4)
  • PS2: 124 million (123.7)

I would just have to guess and say $30-35. I buy a lot of budget and used stuff because I hate paying 50 or 60 bucks for a game. I look for sales, discounts, coupons, etc. and use them to get what I want -- carefully. About twice a year, Gamestop runs a "buy two get one free" on used games. The last time they did, I bought about 12 (used) current run games for my 360. 54.99 used on the 59.99 titles minus 10% club member meant I paid 100 bucks for three 59.99 titles (used, of course) divided by 3 or $33 per game. I'm at the end of that list of games, though and I need another sale, lol.

I hate trolls.

All prices include tax and shipping when applicable. Goozex prices are converted at 20 points = $1. I'm not including VC games, because they're valued so differently from retail games.

Good Lord, do you realize how long it would take me to compile those exact numbers with what I own? Not only that I'd have to factor in what doubles/games I've sold on E-bay.
I'll give it a shot though; mind you this is extremely rough.

NES Systems: Own 5 total cost $60-----------#sold 1@ $150------Net -$90
NES Games: 300+ Total cost around $100------# Sold 5 @$50----Net -$40

Wii Accessories--Own 4 cost $100------ Sold 0----------------Net +$520

Miscellanous Sales (Strategy Guides) Cost $5 Sold 3 $80--Net +$455

To clarify numbers some systems sold included games but they were not tallied in the games section. The games section only consists of individual games sold. Also these are very rough numbers but likely undercalculated because I did it from memory which means I probably left some sales out and neglected a couple purchases.

I've spent $535 on gaming in the last 2 years and own roughly 400 games (proabably slightly more, I ve games for sale I didn't include in my totals)
that puts my average per game @ 1.14

EDIT: Obviously if you went by stirctly how much I have spent without including the games I've sold I would be in the thousands of dollars. i only included the sales because the money I earned usually went back into my gaming hobby.  Also, if I hand't bought the Wii I'd be in the Negative dollars per game. :)

I have a wii.

Can I include gamecube games I bought since getting the wii?
