Doesnt matter. It wont do 1 million in the first week and because of that all the haters will talk MAJOR shit about the game, the sales figures, the and wii

i say at least 110k first week and at least 1.5 mill life

Unless it sells 500k + first week, there will be tons of new threads calling it a flop.

I am in no way predicting 500K first week sales, It will not even come close to that. I am just giving you the cutoff for people making stupid flop threads after just one week of sales.

for me it needs to be over 400k 1st week and 3-4 mill lifetime come on look at the user base size had this been on one of the HDs and sold less than that everybody would be complaining and making ps3 doomed threads look at all the KZ2 R2 LBP Motorstorm2 flopped threads on the ps3

                                                                      Play Me

0 units, since it's impossible to determine flops in the first week (especially for Wii games).

Are you talking about a flop as in the game not selling in the range of its hype, or the game not making a profit? I think it will probably fall short on the first qualification, but the second one seems very possible to meet.

i don't have the slightess idea how much the game cost to produce but since it's in number one for april most wanted, the game must have some internet hype, we'll see for mainstream, i just want to know what people are especting from this game sellwise

Yeah, I wouldn't take Vgchartz hype as representative of hype in the industry. In 2008, LittleBigPlanet was by far the most popular game on the site. You couldn't even go a minute without seeing another thread about it (I don't even think I'm exaggerating here). Sales wise, it sold well, but not as much as this site made you believe it would.

Indeed... if we took this website as an indicator of a games popularity, Okami, Zack and Wiki, No More Heroes, LBP, Killzone 2 would all have sold a lot more.

As for the thread... first week doesn't matter, but if it falls below 100k worldwide I would be very suprised (I expect more like 200-250k worlwide 1st week)
Lifetime sales 2 million would be a good enough number, in truth it shouldn't really be considered a flop unless it fails to make 1 million. (although we won't know until a couple months after launch whether it will fail to do so) because yes it seems to be hyped by a decent number on here... but many Wii "owners" are already passing it off,... there were hardly any doing the same for Killzone 2.

Maybe 100k

Lifetime 1 million.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

To be profitable - 50k & 500k (first week & lifetime)

To be a 'hit' - 100k & 1m

To be a non-disputed hit - 500k & 5m

To be Halo on Wii - 3m & 30m

Everybody here knows it won't sell that well, the only people giving expectations like that are setting it up so they can call it a flop. It'll be lucky to sell 100k first week, it's success will be based on any legs it might have. I'm guessing it'll have moderate/fairly good legs, perhaps better than CoD:WaW, but it won't have incredible legs unless there is high quality local multiplayer.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

150k first week, 1.2-1.5 million lifetime. I think it can do 2 million LT, though.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
