Uh, what lineup are they talking about? Seriously what could possibly be bigger then Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros., and Wii Fit. Considering how big New Super Mario bros was, and how huge Smash bros is, and Wii fit being the spiritual successor to Wii Sports, not to mention the board it comes with possibly being the latest revolution in casual gaming, I suspect we'll see Wii madness start all over again. Don't jump all over doom impending predictions when it's not an exciting weeks for the game industry in general and nothing was released. Wait till some big titles come out. I think with the lackluster reviews of Lair, Heavenly Sword, and with FF, and MGS not coming this year the ps3 doesn't have much to fight with in japan this year, I don't know how anyone could think they could rival the Wii this fall/winter. I even think the 360 has a better lineup for the rest of the year for Japan.

So, looking at the nunmbers in the first post, if Nintendo's base is crumbling, Sony's base has already crumbled, and turning to dust? 39,000 vs 18,000? Yeah.

Looking just at the titles of threads sharky posts in, the last 20 or so I saw were all 360 or PS3 threads. I like how the only post I saw in a Wii thread is immediately attacking the slightest indication of Wii numbers falling. "Crumbling", yeah, ok. That must mean the whole gaming industry in Japan, other than the DS, has collapsed.

This guy does weekly store reports from Japan for many weeks (so dont cry that he is biased). He says Wii is available at most stores. It's also said to be available at amazon.jp, though I dont put much value in that because the Japanese tend to shun American companies (like Microsoft, or Amazon). 

I think this is the case as well.  The Wii still sells out in some stores in Japan, suggesting that more supply would generate more sales.  And, of course, Nintendo has some huge releases just around the corner in the land of the rising sun.

The Wii being spotted on shelves in Japan only 10 months after its initial release? That's not a good sign for a console! Yes, it's true. The people in Japan finally figured out that the Wii is just a fad. PS3 world domination now beginning. The Wii is dooom3d!
