Well alot of people thought that the PS3 would get the price cut this week and some still think it will get it this month or pretty soon. If you take a look at my pricing history thread you'll see that only the 360 got a EU only price cut around this time last year most of the price cuts for 360 and PS3 were in between August and November.

I personally think that the PS3 price cut will happen around the time of Sep - November, there are also a lot of rumors that the PS3 will have another sku something with no wifi and a smaller HDD for 299$.  I dont think that is the case with games taking about 5g to install and movie services jumping on board the PSN they wouldnt make the HDD smaller.

Im thinking that it will be the current 80g sku that sees the 299$ price tag in the next price cut it is already striped no B/C and only 2 usb ports and the memory card slots of the past PS3s are also gone. I also think that SONY should do the same stealthy tactics it did with the recent PS2 price cut have a buzz for only a week prior to the initial announcment, they shouldnt announce anything about price cuts at E3 unless they are planning to cut it right after E3.  Last year the MS announced the 360 price cut at E3 for Sept and all of Aug the 360WW sales were down b/c people were waiting for the new price and 60g sku.

So i think the price cut will happen around Sep- Nov

I think it will be a 100$ price cut on the current 80gb sku

Anything thing less than 100$ will not have a big impact on sales unless MS does nothing this year with there price

It will be plastered all over gaming sites that the current $399 model will drop to $299, there will be a new 160gb sku priced at $399 an will have partial b/c for 80% of ps2 games an for a limited time will come with resistance 2 for no extra cost, news pricing comes into effect monday 6th april LMAO

I expect $349 PS3 starting from April. That mite kill X360 sales for a few months, but will be soon countered by a X360 cut to $249 for the 60GB and then worldwide sales stabilize neck on neck.
