Forums - General - Why there was nothing wrong with my Fanboy Game.

Like I sais we should move past our insecurities. Some people are fine with others calling them a fanboy. I thought those on the list definately were the more vocal ones. Me included. Society has created these barriers. And anyone could have looked at the game either way. If you didn't like the game you didn't have to go. Nintendo-fanboy felt left out. There is a certain satisfaction knowing you made the list imo.

could it restart if everyone in the game wanted to be in it?

That is an interesting question. People could nominate themselves into the game. Would that be objectionable mods? It sets up a precedence for empowerment. It would be like these people are not afraid to consider themselves fanboys.

I think it could be a lot of fun. People out assing each other.

I am Daemon. I am the Word.

Perhaps people could volunteer, instead of being randomly chosen. That would make it 100% not offensive to anyone.

Play Sega Saturn!!!

My Music Video

My History

I'll be the first then. Count me in.

Whatever. People have different ideas on what "fanboy" means...and post gamers take it as an insult. Nobody wants to be called a blind follower of one game developing company...it's pretty sad.

But if you make a new thread where only those who volunteer will be put on the list...fine. I just think the game will be lame then...since it'll just be a popularity contest within the thread.

But I don't need to stop you from doing that...that's your decision.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

The only satisfaction I could see is to drop off of that list as fast as possible. As El Duderino said "fanboy" doesn't mean you are a simply a fan of someone or something, you also hate on others. A fanboy ignores logic if it doesn't fit his position. The word "fanboy" is usually meant as an insult, nothing to be proud of.

This is where I disagree. When someone is a fanboy of a sports team, yes they ignore logic and might not give credit to another team but they are not afraid to proclaim their love for a team. That is the barrier I am trying to break. The game forums have made people insecure. If a few of us stand up and are proud to say we like certain companies others might follow. I don't mean doing it blindly. Myself for example, I play games on all systems but I lean towards Nintendo. Call me a fanboy if you like. I am not insecure.

^^ But beeing a big fan of a sports team is irrational as it is. People accept it and are ok with it. We are trying to discuss things with logics here, beeing a fanboy means you can´t use logic so it´s an insult.

BTW, do you know how many Sports "fanboys" get killed each year in riots ??? Thats not fun and acceptable if you ask me.
