I waited a long time for the PS2 to go under $100, because there were a bunch of games I wanted that didnt come to GC. Now, most of those ported to the Wii, so I don't have a need for a PS2.

Then I guess this means the PS2 will become the best selling 2nd place console in history.

Think about it this way guys, since everyone seems to consider the Wii as a last-gen system, that means that in a few years the PS2 will be kicked off it's throne and forgotten in history as the best selling 6th gen console, because the Wii is going to beat it most likely. Considering how late in the 6th gen the wii launched, that is QUITE a feat! Sony should be so terribly ashamed that their greatest console gets overthrown by something like the Wii.

 

 

no, the wii is not last gen. it came out after the xbox 360(does that make it last gen as well). by the way im not disagreeing with you im just using your post as a example.

Wii can't run current gen software

its like a netbook pc

not everything can be ported to it.

I knew the PS2 was the best choice of this gen. Why did they wait so much? Last year It would have some effects but now it's hard to tell. And I can find it for 50 bucks...

That depends on how you define a generation by. I go by years, as do most sensible people, but in my last post I was basing it off of people who say the Wii is last-gen since it's hardware is closer to the original xbox than the HD twins.

I doubt this will hurt Wii sales at all. People that want and are buying the Wii aren't going to want a PS2 just because it is $99. What was it like about 25 dollar price drop? Big deal....
