Forums - Gaming - Microsoft dismisses PS2 price cut. "360 will continue to drive the market".

The Wii is a toy. They are all toys.

Now that is how society as a whole view video game consoles, regardless of all the multimedia functions you add to it.

It wouldn't be surprising if the upcoming PS2 rise in sales steals some of the 360 arcade thunder.

Showing that they arent scared means they are scared..all they talk abt is that they are better than sony!!!

Maybe I am reading this wrong, but did he just say that the 360 is what is driving the market?

Was the Wii ignored again?

When isn't they Wii ignored?

Or it could very well be that they aren't scared of the PS2. I really doubt that too many people are debating whether to get a 360 or a PS2, as the systems are extremely different.

The 360 drives the market, eh?

I like that confidence. That's the type of confidence that rubs off on the consoles fan base. If you're confident in the product you put out, I will be too.

I substituted "confidence" with "arrogance" in your post, and I had a pretty good lolz.

Seriously though, what they said was BS. They sure know how to make it sound legit and very positive though, and they should be proud of that. That's what PR is for, after all.

No matter what, though, it's always nice to a company be positive about a console you played good money for.

@ Shock, by your logic, all consoles are toys ;). And if you think of a gaming machine as that and then buy one, I can only laugh at you.

Why? I bought all 3. You missed the point as well. I was explaining why (well origionally anyways) MS & Sony do not feel they are in direct competition with the Wii and consider it a different market. They can all be considered toys. Hell my new truck can be considered a toy.

Wii is more like Simple Simon. Fun times for the family or you can enjoy it by yourself if you wish.

360 and PS 3 is more like the new Transformers toys or Barbie. More for you and your friends, not as much fun for the whole family.

Both are toys, just targeted at different sets of people.

I wonder if that explains the trouble Hard Core games are having taking off on the Wii.

Hey, I asked for all the flack I am going to get from the Nintendonites for using the term Toy in the same sentence as Wii.

Holy frijoles.

Okay, so is the 360 the Barbie, or is the PS3 the Barbie?

Just so I know how hardcore and non-family-friendly Barbie is supposed to be.

agreed a 100$ ps2 isnt going to have a big impact the console is almost 10 years old MS might be afraid of a 300$ ps3 though

@wfz if MS didnt keep saying the same things i would beleive them...
