Good article... can agree with a lot of the points made.

Aint there a graph that shows something about at the same point in the consoles lifetime PS3 is like 1.5+ million consoles up? And thats without the pricecut thats sure to come this year.

Yes, but this is changing.... wheras Sony's momentum is falling in their 3rd year, the 360's increased substantially in their 4th. The "same point in time" comparison charts will equalize over the next few months.

Not really.

See this graph for the weekly sales? It's basically the first derivative of the total sales since launch. Note how the PS3 is still consistently overselling the 360, thus the overtracking since launch can't but increase right now.

In about 6 months we'll hit the increase in sales from 360's price cut in that graph and at that point the 360 will start to "equalize", but shortly after that point the PS3 might have one too (we're talking October-November), so the 360 might keep being overtracked.

Microsoft are hyenas.

Sony are lions.

FUCKING LIONS!

I like hyenas better because they remind me of dogs.

But in the Serengeti Plains we know as the theatre of conflict for the console war, Sony rule the roost.

Microsoft isn't afraid of Sony. If they were afraid of Sony they wouldn't have joined the videogame market. Microsoft isn't afraid of any corporation or government for that matter. They are the type that smells blood and profit. They crave the decimation of the competition.

Yeah, Microsoft are hyenas alright. Sony as opposed to Microsoft are boyscouts outside of the gaming realm.

Shouldn't Sony be afraid of Microsoft? Or perhaps a better way of phrasing it, is shouldn't Sony be wary of Microsoft?
I mean, how many former PS exclusives are now on 360?
And the fact that Sony is third in the US and Microsoft has parity in Europe should also give Sony something to think about. The lead Sony has in Japan is not sufficient enough to make up for this, and Europe once was Sony's stronghold... Now Nintendo dominate Europe-especially the UK, and Microsoft are very strong in the UK and aren't exactly suffering in Europe. Losing so much marketshare (spare me the 10 year plan crap, please) should concern Sony.

Although this is one of the least reasons for Sony to be afraid of Microsoft, it's still valid. +1

Ehm... MS did enter this industry to challenge Sony and they are leading right now, so why should MS be afraid again? Sony should had been afraid when MS said they will create a gaming machine back in the days.

(is it "should have been" or "should had been" in the second sentence?)

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
