second all this shows is that during these economic times people are buying the cheapest console.

 Interesting thing is PS3 sales were declining long before the 360 price cut. If you look at the numbers from after MGS4 release say 1st jult to the day before the price cut (13th sept) you see that in those 3 months Ps3 only just sold 100k more units then the 360. If everything stayed the same im pretty sure the 360 would of still gone on to outsell the Ps3, simply because even at that point the 360 was cheaper. Comes a time when people have to let the price cut go and accept that the 360 price is what it is now. The price has not changed in over 7 months. By that logic we can say the only reason the PS3 is selling still is because it had a price cut 15 months ago.

it'a no joke post, normally the console that sells more also sells more SW And thus after 3 months of 2009, according to vgchartz data (largely incomplete mind you) the xbox360 has moved 18,6 million units of SW while the PS3 pushed 14,9 million units of SW. And yes, Killzone 2 shrinked the gap along with Yakuza 3 by basicaly 750k.

Of course the Wii Takes the gold medal selling a whopping 31,8 million  units of SW (!!!). When you take a look at the numbers it turns out that the wii pushed more than 48% of the total software for the year 2009 (according to vgc data, remember this). Even more outstanding is the fact that this ratio would be even more in favour of the Wii if some blockbuster hits were released on the wii to rival Killzone2, Halo Wars, Street fighter4 and others. What does this mean in laymans terms? the wii is dominating. End of story.

There is one thing about last year that a lot of people forget. And that is the first 3-4 months there was shortage problems (360 side). I would say if it didn't have those issues it could have sold atleast another 1/4 to half million units.

If cheapest PS3 would be 200$, then it wouldn't have WiFi, HDD or Blu-Ray included. Xbox 360 is so cheap because MS learn they lessons with original Xbox. They did pay them sick just because they had 70$ HDD and expensive Nvidia GPU.

Although if MS responds with a price cut of their own, we would see things turned back around.

Come on man. You honestly believe the BS. Give the other console some credit. It was doing more at that time so MS has to come up with something to say. When the 360 price cut came then the 360 started outselling PS3. Before price cut it was all PS3.

Yes very well done 360......looks like as MS said the $199 price point is the place where a console sells 60% of its Lifetime Units

you are nowhere NEAR $199 YET you are doing FAR BETTER than Xbox 360 was doing last year at this time...

360 - 60 games 85+
360 - 239 games 65 or lower
360 - 598 games overall

PS3 - 44 games 85+
PS3 - 98 games 65 or lower
PS3 - 310 games overall
