I just watched King of the Hill and it dealt with the same idea.
Bobby wanted a Gamestation (which looked like GC) and asked if it was the lowest price he could get it for. Circumstances being as they were in the episode, he gave bobby 20% off.

So, I was wondering. Do any of you guys ever haggle for games or gaming periphs?

i haggle for almost everything, you cant haggle big corporate shops though, small local shops can give you good discounts if you haggle them.

i was in U.A.E last month, if you don't know how to haggle, they will rip you off there especially if are tourist, i managed to buy a sunglass that was initially about $20 for about $4 by haggling

yeah, it's always fun haggling in cheap countries. How was U.A.E. I hear its great.

But, umm, I mean, has anyone ever gone to like Best Buy or Circuit City and haggled with them? I know that my dad could when I was younger, he managed to get my first skateboard for like 25% off and a tv for 30% off.

How do you do it?

I rarely do it here in Australia, but i do shop around for the best price. In China it's a way of life and good haggling skills are displayed like a badge of honour. I got bored with it pretty quickly after having to do it for every single thing i bought every day.

i had loads of fun there, lots of places to go, there are some beautiful beaches, there is a nice sahara safari were you do sandboarding, camel riding and see belly dancers at night.  

shopping is probably the best thing about dubai because there are some really cheap stuff, too many fake goods though.

the food there is great as well, great range of restaurants to choose from, i got some pictures from my trip in my album if you want to see.

how cheap was it? When I went to thailand everything was about 1/40th of the price or so.

i dont think it is as cheap as thailand, probably about 1/4 of the price.

oh, the sunglass i was wearing in the picture is the $4 sunglass, a fake Police sunglass lol
