a ps3 with an extra controller with little big planet for 400

Right. All of these enticements people come up with always amount to "spend more money Sony." Cutting the price, adding in third party games (This is how WaWar would get in the PS3 box: Sony spends 40-50 dollars on each copy, puts it in the box, and voila! It's a bundle), and advertise more.

Just because you're a mod doesn't mean I won't call you out for trolling. People dont want PS3 compared to what? The Wii? The DS? I know you aren't talking about the 360. Because at this point in its lifetime the 360 had 17 million units compared to PS3's 22 million. Try harder. Now I made this thread to have some fun, to talk about bundles that would sell well for PS3. If you have a problem with that, if you want to come spread doom and gloom at least come correct brotha.

Compared to your own personal hopes -- I said this specifically.
Do I need to say it again? Because it's a pretty straightforward and clear statement. Sony has already spent 3.5+ Billion dollars trying to get people to buy the PS3. If you feel the system isn't selling well enough, it isn't because Sony hasn't tried.
This is another way of saying: "Sony doesn't need more bundles that cost them even more money. They've already pushed this system very hard."
Edit: and as a side note, PLEASE do complain if you feel mods are being abusive. You are absolutely correct that we aren't above the law.

I know what you're doing you're calling me naive in a pretty condecending way. Two things you fail to aknowledge are:
1. The purpose of this (derailed) thread was to conceptualize bundles which would encourage the average consumer to purchase a PS3 not to do an audit of SONY.
2. We don't know what it would cost Sony to bundle whatever items in the box. Here's an example. The 40 gig used to come with Spiderman 3 Bluray. Do you think that they paid $40 for each Spiderman that came with the PS3? Most likely not because Sony owns the rights to the movie. Out there somewhere in the world there is a movie/game bundle which would sell many PS3's at a minimal cost to Sony while inducing the maximum amount of enitcement. What that bundle is, is the subject of the thread. Your response to that question is "teh Ps3 iz doomed!!!11". It's not relevant.
There's no question I'm bringing baggage in from other threads here, Mega. As I implicated, I'm certainly jaded by the fans posting things like "Sony should spend more money by doing X," or "Sony should spend more money by doing Y," frequently proceeded by complaints that Sony isn't doing enough to market the PS3, and/or that the system would be selling better if only Sony would advertise it.
To which my reply is, again: Sony has spent a ridiculous amoutn of money getting the PS3 out there already. They've tried really, really hard.
Is that bad?

second that
Sony is actually doing quite a bit for the PS3. They have expanded their advertising budget. They released that exclusive Target bundle. They keep adding new features to make the console have even greater value to the consumer.
The problem isnt even sales as sales wise the PS3 has been very successful as it has been outselling the Xbox 360 in the same time frame. Its pretty obvious that if the Xbox 360 wasnt released a year before it wouldnt have the lead it has, if at all.
I think really all that is needed is the economy to turn around. Yes a price cut would help but really it wouldnt effect much. Sony should rake in as much money as they can till the holiday before dropping the price.
Future bundles could be an interesting summer twist though, a MotorStorm bundle with MotorStorm and MotorStorm Pacific Rift. Or Resistance bundle with both games.
All I say is Sony will be a-ok if the Yen quits being so damn strong.

Trolling my ass. He's right. Though I suppose he could've said, "They don't think it's worth it," rather than, "They don't want it."
They may want it, but just not for the current price.

I wonder what things would look like if the Yen had never spiked.
I have a feeling Sony originally planned to drop the price of the ps2 and ps3 simultaneously on April 5th. That would've been one hell of a one-two punch.
