using third party I.P = expensive...

They'd be better off with a price cut of $50 than these bundles.

Right. All of these enticements people come up with always amount to "spend more money Sony." Cutting the price, adding in third party games (This is how WaWar would get in the PS3 box: Sony spends 40-50 dollars on each copy, puts it in the box, and voila! It's a bundle), and advertise more.

The original, 599.99 price of the PS3 can be viewed as a massive, billion dollar ad campaign. Instead of putting ads on television, they put their ad in the price: here is an 800 dollar machine for 600! Sony could have spent a billion dollars on advertising instead, but offered the system at an 800 dollar price tag.

Sony has already spent, and they've spent big. If the system isn't selling well enough to meet your personal hopes, it's not because Sony hasn't tried hard enough, it's because people don't want it.

Just because you're a mod doesn't mean I won't call you out for trolling. People dont want PS3 compared to what? The Wii? The DS? I know you aren't talking about the 360. Because at this point in its lifetime the 360 had 17 million units compared to PS3's 22 million. Try harder. Now I made this thread to have some fun, to talk about bundles that would sell well for PS3. If you have a problem with that, if you want to come spread doom and gloom at least come correct brotha.

Compared to your own personal hopes -- I said this specifically.

Do I need to say it again? Because it's a pretty straightforward and clear statement. Sony has already spent 3.5+ Billion dollars trying to get people to buy the PS3. If you feel the system isn't selling well enough, it isn't because Sony hasn't tried.

This is another way of saying: "Sony doesn't need more bundles that cost them even more money. They've already pushed this system very hard."

I know what you're doing you're calling me naive in a pretty condecending way. Two things you fail to aknowledge are:

1. The purpose of this (derailed) thread was to conceptualize bundles which would encourage the average consumer to purchase a PS3 not to do an audit of SONY.

2. We don't know what it would cost Sony to bundle whatever items in the box. Here's an example. The 40 gig used to come with Spiderman 3 Bluray. Do you think that they paid $40 for each Spiderman that came with the PS3? Most likely not because Sony owns the rights to the movie. Out there somewhere in the world there is a movie/game bundle which would sell many PS3's at a minimal cost to Sony while inducing the maximum amount of enitcement. What that bundle is, is the subject of the thread. Your response to that question is "teh Ps3 iz doomed!!!11". It's not relevant.
