Forums - Gaming - Anyone excited for Battlefield: Bad Company 2?

I am, the single player was extremely mediocre, but the multiplayer was absolutely a blast for me (I like it a lot better than Killzone 2's).

What I hope they have next game:

Improved graphics: Which, from the latest screen shots, looks like it won't be a huge improvement.

More weapons that are diverse: The weapons were pretty diverse still, even with only 5 different types/classes, they were different enough for me to tell the difference. I loved the XM8 and the machiene gun w/ the dot sight.

More classes: Maybe they can copy what KZ2 did and allow you to mix and match your primary/secondary tools. What I'll prefer is to have a class tree where you have the 5 standard classes which branch off to their own specialty classes, ending up with 15 classes.

More vehicles/types: I remember in BF: MC they had an amphibious tank that was absolutely amazing, yet had the vulnerability of a low HP.

Parachute/Roping down with Helicopters: I really miss the value choppers had in BF: MC where everyone scrambles into the chopper, everyone quickly introduces themselves as the chopper lifts off, the pilot and passengers coordinate who's jumping where, and with proper execution a team can quickly take all the flags in the beginning of the round. The problem with the parachute in MC was that everyone could bail out of choppers with no consequence, and jump off high points with no consequences. Perhaps to make the use of a chopper riskier, they can force the chopper to go low, in order for people to rope down safely. But first they have to increase the room of the choppers...

CLANS: They really fucked up on this in BC 1. How can a FPS beat COD if they don't even have clan support?

SQUADS: It sucks being put in random squads. I want to be able to squad up with people I know enough to cooperate with, but don't want to spam up my friend's list with.

More game types: Self explanatory. Although Gold Rush was pretty fun.

Prone position: Although they have to do this carefully, so there won't be people dolphin diving, and ruining the tactical aspect of BC.

More maps, big and medium: I hate small maps, that's the number one reason I hate Killzone 2 (although I'm trying to make an effort to get good at that game, as hard as I'm failing). They should take some ideas from MC, as they had some sweet maps. I remember playing a ruined Chinese city, completely flooded. Carefully crouching through the water as you went down the streets littered with bright signs torn down, and broken vehicles (think Ghost in the Shell). That can look absolutely stunning in HD, especially with the water effects. They're diffenetly including snow maps, which is a huge improvement.

Finally, BETTER SINGLE PLAYER. Story, AI, gameplay, script, etc.

Battlefield 1943 is coming soon (download only), based on the same Frostbite engine. It has parachutes and better squad/clan mechanics plus you can call in a bombing run/airstrike from a bunker.

I really liked Bad Company multiplayer, SP campaign was screaming out for a 4 player co-op I really hope they do that!!

Maps were generally pretty good and gold rush was good too, FREE DLC was a bonus too. Map pack and conquest mode!! I hope they expand on these!!

Love the destructible environments! Completely destructible buildings have been confirmed!

I will definitely get this game!

I'm not excited, but I'll probably get it. The online mode in the first one was very unique and the maps were huge. Too bad everyone is always sniping.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

I really was disappointed when the destructible environment aspect was over played in Killzone 2, as the only parts that I really saw it was the one part with the fixed machine gun and burning building, and a few small examples.

I wish every single game has destructible environments. I remember Socom tried to fix its camping problems (especially with hostage missions) by having "breach points" with C4. But that only ended up having the campers spread themselves up and cover each "Breach point". With bad company, if there's a Gold box I need to blow up, I don't need to walk into a door with a shot gunner crouching in the corner. Instead, I can take a C4/Drill/Mortar/Rocket/Grenade Launcher/Vehicle and blow a hole in the building. If there's an annoying sniper at a window, I can grenade launch that entire wall and send him flying. If I want to ambush a group of player, I can go to the attic of a building and make my own window/nest. If there's someone doing that to me, I can get a mortar and kill 1-4 guys (depending on spawning).

It just gives a map so much potential by adding destructible environments.

Edit: For the guy complaining about sniping, at least there's no one shot kill rifles in BC. Also the thing I loved was how important cover is in the MP. I remember the map I absolutely hated the most, the one that was huge, and had a huge field in the middle, with a flag in the top middle of the map (conquest). I learned to go through the river bed (and so did everyone else) which acted almost like a trench. I learned to get in Jeeps and take out my snipers. I learned how to be able to head shot snipers with Assault gun. I learned how to mortar snipers from afar. Sniping is actually pretty difficult in the game, due to mortar strikes. The bridge map that came in the free DLC is a testament to that. You'll expect everyone to climb the top of bridge if this was any other game, but after the first few weeks, nobody does anymore.

Bad Company was a good game but i didn't like the fact u can't get the platinum

Ever since KZ2 came out... No not really.

I'm ready for it, i thought it was a very good game.

Yep, i'm a girl

I hope the focus more on the MP this time anyone who ever played the Battlefield games on the PC knows that Dice are one of the best in online features.

it's good to see finally were are getting blood action in a Battlefield game will be very interesting

hope the lose the stupid half ass squad system in BC 1. Bring back the same system form BF2 and Bf2142 (on the PC)

I've stopped playing battlefield after 2. I was probably one of the biggest 1942 fans and I'm looking forward to 1943. Battlefield heroes also looks very interesting and I'll surely support the concept!
