Have you not considered that the 100s of $$s you spend on PSN/XBL/WW/VC will be lost by the end of this gen? I myself don't buy that stuff but those who do, aren't you concerned?

Why on Earth would they be lost?

1. Will the next generation of systems shoot the current ones with EMP and break them?

2. Why do you think they won't simply allow you to download them again onto your new system? They'll most likely be backward compatible, so...

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

They'll want to make more money so they probably won't allow you to re-download them

Thereby causing a massive riot and causing few people to download anything anymore for fear of it not working in a couple of years.

I believe Sony lets you download purchases 5 times... I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's right.

well some people have used their 5 downloads already

I have downloaded a big amount of songs for Rock Band and I'll be very pissed if I couldn't play those songs on my future PS4...

You've just gotta be careful that your console doesn't vanish when the negative sales happen.

Anyway, I'm not too worried - Either I can transfer them to my Wii2, or I'll leave my Wii set up

I remember Xbox Live has a 5 download limit for any DLC/XBLA game. I'm not entirely sure on this.

Concerned? No

PSN, Live and NWC are remote servers. It doesn't matter what console connects to them. Heck a PS3 could connect to Live providing they coded the api for it. So when next gen comes out they will connect to the same servers again. Much like the DS and Wii connect to NWC.

The problem arises on compatibility. Will Rock Band 4(PS3, Wii2, XBox720) be compatible with Rock Band 2 songs? If not then RB4 won't work. Put in your RB2 disc and enjoy the same DLC.
