Forums - Nintendo - My Parents bought a Wii...

I already own one, but they still bought one.

I asked mt dad why and he said that he and my mom want to get Wii Fit and he wants Guitar Hero. I think my Mother wants the American Idol game as well.

The last video game console my father owned was an Atari 2600 (I think or was it one of the later models?).

My Aunt and step uncle (both in their mid 50s) have a wii as well.

The Wii: The console of choice for people over 40.

Kind of a beautiful thing, isn't it?

Meh...its odd seeing them play video games. My mom loves Puzzle games on her PC, and my dad loves golf games on the PC also, but seeing them actiually buy a console is just odd.

Back in the day my dad bought an Atari (don't know which one), an NES, a Genesis, and an N64. He hasn't really played any games since the Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. he hasn't really gamed hardcore since the NES days.

Hearing that he plays House of the Dead with my little brother on the Wii warms the cockles of my heart.

Unfortunatly most people who buy a Wii won't buy real games. I showed my dad a few of my games for the wii and he was not interested.

Reason for you to buy him a golf game with WM+ coming release.

There's nothing wrong with using it for Wii Fit and Wii Sports and Guitar Hero and American Idol.

Most people who buy Wii get it for the new experiences.

The "real" games you mention are things people have already seen.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)

Wii: 10^8

So wich is the "kiddie" console now??

So what's a "real" game? something you play with a controller while sitting on you ass?

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)
