Well, there are a lot of average games due to the definition of the word.

Final Fantasy XII is the most recent one that comes to mind. Not a bad game, but the heal-fest aspect of it annoyed me. I got ten hours into the game and stopped playing.

I didn't find the 2nd Breath of Fire to be anything particularly wild, but it was so long ago I don't remember all that much.

 Nope. It wasn't 7th Saga. Good try though. I looked for the game in question using every seach-field I could think of and came back with nothing.

 Tactics Ogre fan eh? I didn't try it until 1997-98, after I played FF:Tactics. That may have skewed my opinion. I just couldn't get into it. Love the genre too....
