How about this: A JRPG where the main character has grown into a young adult after being raised by a guardian after he or she saved you from being killed as a child. However, it turns out that the guardian is just using you to help create a new world which will in turn kill every one on the planet.

Has that been used before? Let me guess...yes it has.
