Wow, so even the best sales week for the PS3 and 360 don't surpass the worst sales week for the Wii (PS3 Euro launch week excepted of course).

I don't see the ps3 taking the second spot over the 360 soon, not with this minor difference. There is a good change the 360 will outsell the ps3 for this year. Would never have guest that almost a year ago.

Wii is just untouchable.

So after nearly a year, the Ps3 has managed to outsell the 360 by 300k. Now that the 360 has begun to outsell the Ps3 weekly worldwide last week and this week, it's possible by the end of the year the Ps3 will not have gained one single console over the 360 in a year.

How exactly are they going to make up the 6.5 million console difference again?

Maybe if they triple sales they could make up 1.5-2 mill by the end of 08 and still be 4.5 to 5 million behind halfway through the console cycle.

If you take out that 600k month for the PS3 and make it even 150-175 week instead it looks like the 360 will beat the PS3 by about 300k instead of the PS3 beating the 360 by about 300k by years end (just looking at this years numbers).

A great read as always, I think this is definitely a very interesting way to look at the numbers but I made a modification to make it a bit easier to read. Technically you aren't supposed to change the width of a class in a Frequency Distribution but it does make it a lot easier to read in this case.

PS - If you want to steal this and use it in the OP go for it, I'm not trying to steal your thunder here or anything, just trying to make it easier for people to make heads or tails of it
