In case i can't find the 8800 GTX, the 9600 GT will do it?

Look at some of these benchmarks then you can decide. 1680x1050 my 22in monitor resolution btw.

Do you think the GeForce 9600 is good enough? And what do you think about the 8800 GTX? And the Core 2 Quad processor?

I realized it's not a good idea at all to upgrade my pc by now

I have yet to take a good look at overclocking, but lowering the lifespam of my hardware is not sounding that good, but since my fellow VGCers recommend me this i need to try it

And i'm not betting my quarters on onlive. Also, the internet here in Brazil won't ever be on pair with the first world internet, so i doubt this will be of any advantage for us

A GeForce 9600 GT will be enough for a couple of years (not on the highest settings I suppose but it'll run the games pretty easily, and now you'll even get pretty high settings).  A 8800 GTX is even more powerful, though it's also much more expensive (I think). Any Core 2 processor should be more or less enough, and Quad should be even better (then again, I'm not sure if it's worth the price right now).

Overclocking won't do too much but in your situation even that little can be important.

Why not try 8800GT for $10 more than 9600GT? It's quite a big performance increase.

He's not in the US. Cost of components won't be similarly priced. Even availability sounds limited.

If you can find an 8800GT for $10 more, it's worth it. The performance gap isn't actually that big though. It's roughly 10% making it worth it mainly if you find a better deal on one card than the other.

8800GT is $100 on Amazon and actually same price as 9600GT. 8800GT has been one of the best price/performance since it was released. They do ship to Brazil. I had 8800 GTS and 8800 Ultra before. Ultra is roughly 2X faster than GTS. Ultra>GTX>GT>GTS.

So, i went to another store as i said this monday, and here is what i have:

Intel G31 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.33 GHZ Processor

4GB Ram

GeForce 9600 GT 512MB Video Card

The 9800 GTX and 8800 GTX video cards are too expensive, and i'll check the prices on the 8800 GT both 512MB and 1GB, probably tomorrow. I'll get a 9600 GT with 1GB if i can't find the 8800 GT

So, a 8800 GT 512MB is still superior to a 9600 GT 1GB?

Here is the review for 8800GT 512MB vs 9600GT 1GB. 8800GT is still faster.

Yes it seems that your graphic card is not meeting the requirements mate. I guess for a game like this you will need at least 6600 GT for awesome gameplay. and basically your processor is not that good either I mean p4 at 1.6 it must be crashing more frequently isn't it. Beside you would need a mother board if you will upgrade the processor, I dont believe your motherboard can accommodate Core due or core 2. and for maximum play go for another RAM and make sure its a DDR2.

BUT,..........

If you are a bad ass addicted gamer go for these settings:
Motherboard: ASUS rampage II
CPU: i7 Extreme (I think it is 3.5 or something any way the rampage will overclock it to 4. something)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 (as DDR2 is not supported by the board)
PSU: Cooler master 1100W
Case: nVidia cases are fine, but you might want a Cooler master which is way much, well cooler.
Cooling: get any liquid cooling for the processor
GPU: Well, (the fast & Furious, the beast and the best) GTX 295
Monitor: LCD samsung 29' and higher

After that you can start pulling down your pants cause people will be lining to kiss you a$$
