Forums - Gaming - PS2 or 360 offline?

I have never played any of the games of the PS2. I don't have a HD TV. I am not planning on playing online or download games, so I won`t have a hard drive for the 360. The only difference is the graphics. And the only thing that really matters is the games. In my position, which console would you buy?

PS2

If graphics don't matter and you just want to play offline go PS2.

I barely play PS2 games nowadays, but in your position, I guess the PS2 is a decent choice. TONS of great games to be had for under $10. Go for it.

It depends what you want. You already have a Wii and a pretty sweet game collection, so I'm not sure what to recommend to you. The PS2 has a much wider, cheaper and better game library, but it is not getting many new games anymore. The 360 has better shooters, but the PS2 wins in terms of RPG's

What sort of games would you be wanting to play?

i would have too say a xbox 360. it has a great library of games that keeps on expanding(unlike the ps2). it has a awesome games from alll the genres.plus the ps2 does not have viva pinata.

what's the point of go backwards? just a waste of money, probably soon or later you will get a HDTV and maybe want to try the online, in my opinion if you get a ps2 waste of money, if you get a 360 investment, and by the way you can find a lot of 360 games nowadays for 16 dollars or less...nway it's up to you!

Well according to your sig it seems you already decided which to get first.

That's like a fight between Mike Tyson and Britney Spears. The PS2 has the best library of games in history and its only flaws were paltry online offerings and relatively poor graphics.
