Forums - Nintendo - IF Kid Icarus Wii existed, what would you want it to be like?

Mario galaxy

Flying between clouds, columns

Platforming with some use of 3rd person shooter design

Dark and scary, demons and floating eyeballs

Make it darker than Metroid

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Platforming par with Metroid Prime.

Flying between clouds, columns in the later levels.

Platforming with some use of 3rd person shooter design

Bright and Angelic in some parts and Dark and Demonic in others.  Keep the Winged Snakes and Floating Eyeballs.

Make it Kid Icarus but more balanced between light and dark.

 Pretty much this.

Pixel Art can be fun.

There's been a lot of talk about Kid Icarus Wii ever since that lamer over at IGN started spouting about it saying it'd be at E3, then at the next convention etc. etc.

Either way, most of us seem pretty convinced that the title doesn't exist. I know I don't think it does.

But, if it had existed(or does), what would you want it to be like? This is a franchise that hasn't had a new installment for a very long time, most certainly not one in 3D, and it could go pretty much any way.

Personally, I'd want it to be 3D and somewhat like Zelda. So you have dungeons and stuff, and use the items/weapons you've gathered to guide yourself through the dungeons, while the Overworld would be a massive area where you could fly around to your heart's content. I guess they'd have to find some way to limit places so you can't get to them quite yet despite flight, but that shouldn't be too tough. So basically a 3D Zelda with flight. I know, not very imaginative or innovative, but I think I'd like it.

So what about you guys? How would you like Kid Icarus Wii to be IF it existed?

DISCLAIMER: This thread is not to contain discussions as to whether the title exists or not, simply discussion as to what you'd want it to be like if it did.

Basically, what you said would make a great game. What they can do to deal with the flight matter is that limit how long that you can fly. Kind of like Mario 64 with time increase with every boss you beat. Each dungeon requires longer length of flight. Plus some kind of hyper flight which allows you to fly to any region like a warp. Since PIT can fly you can start the game with it. But it would be limited to warping only. A possible story is that PIT loses his full fight capability and has to get it back and will need it for the final boss. But definitely 3D. A if anyone could pull it off, Nintendo is the one to do it.

I don't care, as long as I can fly and shoot a bow I am happy :P

Anyway, a solid mix of 3d platformer with more of a focus on combat than something like Galaxy. Epic boss fights, really difficult, similar art style to Twilight princess

This also sounds very good, I think.

What's with the Zelda copy comments?

Anyway, I'd like it to be like the original. Brutally hard, good visuals(for the time), and full of monsters and upgrades.

I guess it means that peole want more Zelda like games. It would be no different that the 100 shooters on the 360.

But I would insist on a non-adult-protagonist Kid Icarus.

Something like this would be suitable. Similar to Zelda, but not an exact carbon copy.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

i guess somethin similar to this:
