Never changed batteries yet want to know why? its called recharge packs. You must be doing something wrong on Live because my friends and I can play together just fine on the same console. The noise ok I can see that perhaps but sheesh is it really going to kill ya? Blu Ray who the heck needs Blu Ray right now its cool and all but too darn expensive. It fits more on a disc sure but are you really that lazy to change a disc if need be? Why does Microsoft need to hype L4D the game has plenty of word of mouth from customers and that's Valves job to advertise the sucker. Why not put that money to good use like getting more games on the platform. Wired 360 controllers...? Wait are you saying people actually use those piles of junk. This is the wireless era my friend stop being so old school! So you need a reward for paying for LIVE how about having the best online play available on any platform, exclusive dlc. Not everything cost MS Points but things like songs will never be unless its perhaps some promo. Who the heck cares if there's a slim xbox 360 it won't change the games! It might bring in more sales but this isn't Sony were talking about. They didn't do it with the xbox why do it with the xbox 360.

I cant read that wall of text, but i got rechargable pack and he cant use his account for his own ACHIEVEMENT!

Fixed!

As for achievements all he needs to do is pull up his account from the LIVE Database if that doesn't recognize it then let Microsoft know about it. If its that big of an issue play with eachother through LIVE instead of at eachother's house.

So if you have a rechargeable pack then explain to me why your complaining about batteries?

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

4) It's pretty hard to ask a company to do that, MS:E&D is running on a fairly thin profit margin as it is.

6) Ahh, yeah they were kinda pointless. But they're gone now

7) So, whoever published the game is meant to be responsible for the advertising

8) I suppose, but the 360 isn't all that old yet. And if the components are the same, a smaller case will lead to reduced air circulation and thus increased heat. MS had to completely kill of RROD before they could even consider a slim console

9) But you are willing to fork out the extra cash for a BD add on, and the extra $10 per movie

10) I disagree, it would only excassabate the problem that developers are having on the HD consoles - having two lots of code would also effectively halve the length of games as the same DVD would need to contain both sets of data

Unfortunately, a lot of the fixes happened well after I added a 360 to my gaming options.

The upgrade from 20GB to 60GB for drives was well overdue. The day Sony pulled the 20GB model from production was the day MS should have followed suit. While paying $100 for the 60GB upgrade pack with a wired headset is an excellent upgrade option for Arcade owners, objectively, who pays $100 for a 60GB 2.5" HDD drive these days? Fair market value buys from 320-500GB of 2.5" space for the same price depending on where you shop.

Lack of onboard WiFi. Sure, plenty will swear up and down on a stack of Holy Bibles that anything less than an ethernet hardline is unacceptable, but realistically speaking, WiFi is the most common home network in use due to convenience alone. And a $100 add on for a $200 console is no longer excessive; it's ridiculous. Between that inconvenience and subscription fees for online play for a console I seldom use, I just don't bother connecting at all unless there's a major update or game I'd like to buy off XBL.

Battery issue is really not much of a problem although the Sony solution is really better in all respects (they're invisible, won't need replacing before the pad itself is worn out from use and are replaceable assuming you know how to use a screwdriver and order parts) but extra weight for those who like a heavier pad and charge life, depending on the type of batteries being used. I still haven't bothered to buy any play and charge kits, opting instead to use NmH AA cells.

Drive noise issue has been lessened with the Lite On DVD drives (no consolation to those with earlier generation consoles). Installs aren't really a fix unless you only play a few games at a given time or you sprung for a larger HDD.

I'd list hardware reliability, but it's already a given when you buy a 360. Plus I haven't had any issues yet to complain about for the relatively low number of hours it's been used as a third tier gaming platform.

The price of an Arcade these days (which addresses most fixes) makes most of these gripes obsolete other than the HDD issues, and really, paying $300 for an Arcade and an add on 60GB drive is quite reasonable. Early adopters are really the only ones who should still have issues.

I think I must have stepped through a portal to opposite land, Garnett has things he hates about the 360 and CGI-Quality loves the 360... (I kid, of course).

Anyway:
1) For most games, can't you play online with a friend split screen with the other person being a guest? (I know for sure you can with Halo 3, not sure about other games though)

2) Not sure why they chose batteries either, probably to suck more money out of you? I think in the long run (assuming the 10 year plan and MS promise to stick with Sony till the end of this gen), it won't be such a bad thing (seeing as how once the battery or rechargeable pack dies for good, you'll be able to easily replace it. Can't say the same about the DS3 or Six-axis).

3) Don't own a 360 no more, so not an issue for me. It's not too loud on a friends elite though

5) like scottie, would rather cheaper XBL then free points.

8) I'd say a reduction in the size of the power adapter is more necessary, the 360 isn't really massive (relative to the PS2 phat, the original xbox and the PS3).

9) I'm not sure how much I'm getting out of blu-ray, really. Aside from the games (which wouldn't work seeing as how not everyone would get a blu-ray add-on), blu-ray movies don't offer too much over the standard dvd in terms of content, it's just that explosions look better on blu-ray (assuming it's an action movie).

EDIT: Forgot to add the things I dislike about the 360:

1) No wifi compability for free. I ended up spending $100 on the adapter, which is ridiculous.

2) Lacklustre JRPG's. I sold my 360 before LO and ToV (so take that into account). After 2 years with the xbox, I can't believe they didn't have anything better than or even remotely close to Eternal Sonata on the platform (which was easily the best JRPG this gen at that point on any home console).

@CAL4M1TY - I don't use wireless so it never entered my head but I think you have a good point there.

It would be nice if they added wireless to the elite to give it a bigger difference from the pro, also they should be able to reduce the price of the wireless adapter given how long its been stuck at that price. The very most it should be is $60 and I think they would still make a nice profit at that, at the moment people must be willing to spend money on other solutions rather than lining the Microsoft coffers.

I don't think they should add wireless as standard to all models as I'd rather not have the premium to pay but there should be a cheaper alternative to add the functionality.

1.Xbox live-(WtF my friend has to PAY for XBL when he is over a few times a month and we are on the same fking console, really MS?)

For the most (if not all) splitscreen online games your friend can sign in as a guest and play online with you for free (Halo 3, Gears of War etc.)

10) would be pretty hard to implement

2.Batteries -Really? Honestly Batteries?

3.Rumbling DVD drive.

4.Everything cost MS points, just about everything at least, can i get a (Good)free track for GH WT? No dam..

5.No reward for buying GOLD,Cmon MS give us 500 MS points for every 3 months we buy of XBL,plz?

6.Wired stix suck! The cord somehow got bent and well if you move it anyway it comes unpluged, not really unpluged but disconnected cause the wires are messed up.

7.Hype? MS didnt play L4D at all,an exclusive to the Xbox 360 console but they dont say crap about it,show it off its an AAA game,or any other big games besides Halo and Gears, why MS why?

8.Where is my Slim 360?

9.Where is my Blue Ray addon?

10.Can i have downloadable Xbox 360 enhanced games, you know games that have improved graphics over the DVD version due to more space?

My honest opinions what are yours?

 1. Dude you pay to have your friend play with you online? 90% of games let you play with a friend free online as a guest.

2. Yea batterys so they can be replaced unlike PS3 controllers that will eventually have to be totally replaced... get rechargables and save a mint like all serious gamers.

3. My DVD drive dont rumble, its wisper quiet. I've had my console is over 2 years old, its a rare ocurrance. Sorry about your luck.

4. So you expect everyone to take there time and effort into giving you free shit? They need money you need songs payup, its a business.

5. So you pay $20 and expect a free $6.25 in points? That dont add up sorry, again payup they are not making you stuff for free.

6. Yep wired does suck thats why you should use wireless controllers like the rest of the world.

7. 100% agree its awsome! But they dont need to advertise it to much it already sold 2.5mil+ already and thats AWSOME!

8. Could not care less as long as they get the old ones to work I am more than happy with it till I buy a 720.

9. Fuck blue-ray, digital downloads are the future!

10. Never thought about that, not profitable but still not a bad idea. Maybe some time later.

Right now the entire games industry is VERY causious become of the economy. People need to realize everyone is trying very hard just to stay in business let alone catter to everyones needs. The entire indutry should get a HUGE pat on the back for doing as well as it is in such a hard time.

"Leap ignorantly to the defense of wealthy game company’s, who don't know or care about you!"

I have only two complaints about X360. Price of Live which annoyes me the most and the lack of WiFi. (even DS has it!)
