im not trying to get people going(although im sure it probably will)....or to cram my viewes down peoples throats, but i  thought this was great, check it out..... http://theglennbeck912project.com/

Wow, that was amazing! I rarely find something I disagree with so much!

I live in Denmark, a very socialist country. Even our liberals are socialists by american standards. I would never, ever want to live in a country with a rule that even slightly resembled that.

We pay very high taxes (~50% on average) and there is a 25% tax on all wares bought in the country. This money goes to paying our all our welfare. Free healthcare, education and support for those in society who need it.

And despite all these high taxes, I would never want to be without them. It's not without reason that Denmark has been the happiest country in the world for the past 30 years or so. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/02/14/60minutes/main3833797.shtml

Of course, I'm not here to tell you what to believe, we live in a democracy after all! But I can't help but wonder why in the world you would remove a basic freedom such as freedom of religion?

It seems we have gone off topic, and are now on gun control, so I will throw in my 2c. The Constitution gives us the right to bare arms so we can rise up against an unjust Government. I always hate the argument "No one need an automatic weapon to hunt". We are given the right so we can hunt, we are given the right so we can kill people if need be.

The founding fathers knew the nature of man far better then we do. They knew that if left unchecked, men in power would do unjust things.

So until you change the constitution to say we don't have the right to upraise against an unjust government, I should be afforded any weapon I feel I need.

The founding fathers were half right. Men in power have destroyed our country. Giving us the right to bare arms did nothing to stop them.

Is that what they mean by "field stripping"?

So while more people are killed with guns, less are killed with other weapons.

Probably because it's much easier to kill people with guns than knives, for instance - and american gun laws seem to be pretty lax, so obtaining a gun shouldn't be difficult.

I was going to write a statement about the OP itself, but Rainbird summed up my feelings pretty well.

Hmmm, the country that allows guns has more gun related homicides, funny that isn't it considering it is for your protection.

It's not for your personal protection. It's to uprise against government.

That uprising against the government argument is quite passé by now, isn't it? The government has so many bodies on place that it could not ever spin into such an uncomfortable state that a massive armed uprising could occur. In all honesty, I rather believe that when such a thing occurs half the people will side with the government immidiatly negating any advtage a lone gunmen in a cabin in northern Missouri might have.

I am already involved. I know a lot will bash me and all the other conservatives here but I don't care. We need to take our country back!

i couldnt agree more!

The country WAS taken back last November!  The conservative ideology ran this country into the ground, the majority of the people realized this and took the appropriate steps in 2006 and 2008.  Glen Beck's right-wing cult is an irrelevant minority.

You're new, so you obviously have not seen many of my posts.

I have a learning disability, so most of the worst you see will either be outright spelled wrong, or spelled right, but the wrong word.

The people I argue with the most never really make fun of it, for two reasons. One is they recognize it's not a reflection of my ability to form a cohesive argument, and two it just shows poor taste.

I don't get it. What is this website? All I gather is a motto that the site has intentions to gather people as Americans the same way they were on 9/12/01. If I recall that was utterly horrified, scared, and united in the fear of a still unknown cause to a series of plane crashes the day before. So we're trying to go back to that again? What's funny is that I believe the terrorists have the same dream for Americans, get them back to 9/12/01.

I wouldn't mind as much if I didn't think Glenn Beck is the biggest charlatan of all. His fake crying really pisses me off. He turns it off and on instantly. He may be really crying...I guess it's possible. It just seems to be a way of capitalizing on people's fears.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

-Isn't this part of the problem? I imagine if everyone who could vote, did vote, government would be providing more services. Isn't this the argument that Government should provide entitlements?

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/03/05/poll-do-americans-want-government-health-care-reform/

I saw this on health care reform. I didn't actually see the methods and people interviewed in the poll, but it does seem like an indiccation that people actually want the "government to work for them"

Is this resistance an attempt at trying to make the minority (especially in the healthcare front) to appear as a majority?

That's not what he means.

As an example, let's say you lived in a housing development with 20 homes, and every household spent one night out of 20 to police the area. You all got together one day and decided to hire a security guard to watch neighborhood for you, so you didn't have to do it. Each household pays 5% the cost.

Now one day the guard come to you all and says "I have noticed all crime in this neighborhood happens after 6:00 PM, so starting today, no one is allowed outside there homes from 6:00pm to 5:00am."

The guard has no authority to tell you what to do. He is just a guy you hired to provide a service for you all. The power still resided in the people who own the homes.

Government should be the same way. The only reason we have public servants, it to handle the tasks of running a country, so we all don't have to do it. The power should still reside in the people, not our employees (government workers).
