@ Onyx: I don't have to explain myself to someone who will ignore me whatever I say.

It's the basis of the entire website. If it's a bad analogy then doesn't this whole website and it's motto become worthless? We were stuck togther in fear and the unknown on 9/12/01. We were also extremely prejudiced against middle easterns on 9/12/01 but I'm sure everyone would like to forget that part, or maybe that's part of the motto also.

I still don't understand the togetherness of this website. It mentions God, which is a devisive force in itself regarding community and government, and that happens to be an important talking point of this website. What about atheists? Are they not welcome to this 9/12/01 re-enactment barbeque? Or did they just not exist 8 years ago?

We were stuck together by national pride and American values.  We did not give a rat's ass about party, idealogy, about what my neighbor did with my lawnmower, or what have you.  We were essentially one...a country with high hopes for the future.  Now we are a complaining country debating who is to blame at every thing gone wrong whether it is gas prices, the economy, or not enough ketchup on our fries.  It is utterly rediculous to think that we cannot get together for the benefit of the country. If we cannot, then the future of the USA is that of a fragmented, anarchist state where chaos rule supreme and the majority is cast aside for the supremacy of the few.  History will be repeated and out of the ashes we will face a decision: do we work together or do we abandon all hope for a better tomorrow for ourselves and our posterity.  I would rather choose the former 110% of the time.

This is the rationale of the site.  It may contain one-liners about things that draw in conservatives (God, nationalism) but it is about something grander--it is about how do we as Americans look for a better tommorow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the voter turnout last year the highest since since the 1968 election? I'm pretty sure the american people made their choice last year, and I was there to experience the election. And I have no doubt Obama is the right person to bring America back on track, certainly not the conservative nationalists who thinks they need to "take the country back"...

From who? Your fellow countrymen? The people who shed tears of joy when Obama was elected?

@Halo
For someone who is so conservative I find it VERY interesting you like Lincoln.

Its funny how libs think we are more unified than ever before and conservatives cry about how we are more separate than ever before.
sour grapes?

Why because of the rumor that he was a RINO?  He was the 1st Republican president so of course there was some settling going on into what the early base would eventually believe in.

I also like Eisenhower's military finesse, Nixon's early appeal and ways of "sockin' it" to the enemy, Reagan for obvious reasons, and GWB's Christian and no retreat, no surrender attitude.  Anyway, that's just some of my thoughts.

not in the least....i dont care how foolish you or anyone else may think i am to believe what i do. if it upsets you(and so many others who cant take someone elses opinion)...so sorry to hurt your feelings....

Jesus jebebus Mrs. Nordlead, calm down. You're talking to Stof. All he did was give you a one liner and you're so quick to jump on him and others? It's not that we're not all open to debate, it's just that some of the conservative posters on this forum have made some really bad threads and some even worse posts. For the sake of whatever dignity they claim to hold, I won't quote them.

Hopefully you keep your promise and don't make any more political threads since you can't take criticism.
