Forums - Sony - Sony to match dev budgets in return for exclusivity

I'm guessing they expect the money back once it goes on sale.

Is Sony in the right place (At this point in time) for a price cut and a budget match???

Prolly not, after freezing employee's salaries & the losses they've had but gotta do what you have too in order to stay competitve. A PS3 price cut would be nice though, sooner rather than later

That Was Left-Handed

Xbox Live: Spire VII

Going back to the old bag of tricks.

Interesting considering they're lack of funds...

Oh..

It's just PSN games.

Still... they're basically saying if your a part of this.  You can't lose money.  Kudos.

Wonder if any other terms are put on it or it's just straight "free" money.

excuse my ignorance but how do you publish psn title?

sony is targeting small studios with this and reduced devkits. good idea. let ms spend all their money while you get people whod give anything just to get a chance

Well, they do also get $0.16 cents back for every download for the first 60 days.

"It's all very well for us as platform holders to say 'put all your money into PlayStation Network, it's a fantastic idea', but are we prepared to put or money where our mouth is? The answer is yes," Chris Eden, Sony's development relations manager, told an audience at the Game Developers Conference today.

Would indicate that was the case.... to me anyway.
