I bet the 360 will have better frame rate

Yeah, that's why the PS3 will run it better according to Crytek, right?

You''ll see. Just because there's a new engine available doesn't mean the ps3 architecture gets easier to deal with.

It's been this way for years now, and it won't change. ''slightly'' means nothing. It's up to the devs.

Oh woe is me.

I bought a less powerful console for less money.

Hopefully I'll survive.

I hopw poeple will get over this multiplatform graphics debate. It's been shown time and time again that it doesn't matter to the average gamer. What matters are the exclusives which take advantage of the hardware....

PSN ID: T_Gears

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

seem to me that everything that is processor intensive runs better on ps3 and thing that need better memory management run better on 360

Mulltiplatform games are and have always been better on the XBox 360 than PS3. I do not see things changing in the future.

So not only you avoid the issue of having called rigged screenshots at the same Eurogamer that published the comparisons you hold so dear...
Not only you ignore those comparisons where the games were indistinguishable or better on the PS3 when compared by the very same Digital Foundry guys...

You choose to keep saying that these comparisons are oh so important, but that at the same time the one this thread was about is the only one that doesn't count?

That must take some sheer orwellian doublethink skill. Kudos.

More fanboy bullshit from numonex. Werekitten... you officially owned him with your 2 posts.

OT:

Why cant people just see that the engine looks better on the PS3 version... making yourself look stupid just because your a 360fanboy = epic fail.

Crytek have just confirmed the PS3 version will run better, and it ALREADY looks better too.

good, PS3 should be "slightly" better than 360... I mean really it should even be a lot better considering time and price but hey it should definitely be at least "slightly" better.

I personnally usually find PS3 slightly too blurry to my taste, I hope this engine fixes that...

To be expected, really. A combination of a more powerful console+a company that loves the PS3.

Most of the footage is 360. I wonder why????

in this one somehow i have to agree, ps3 is more detailed and the water looks much better! 1-0 for ps3

I have always stated that I thought Crytek are very competent game engine developers, if they continue to optimise their game engine as much as possible they will probably see a lot more gains in the future on the PS3 as well. As the Cell's SPEs provide endless oppertunities for optimisation.

Most complaints from developers in the past actually regarded the state of cross-platform middleware solutions on the PS3 (most low-level developers actually hailed its abilities), the Cell being so different compared to legacy CPUs requires more modern approaches and more specific care (this will count for many more modern multi-core/multi-CPU architectures in the future, game engines will gain enormously from the advances developers took to take advantage of the Cell). But the potential end results can be far beyond anything what's possible to achieve on current rival consoles.

Hopefully they will be successful and this pushes more 3rd parties to adopt their gaming engine, which in turn may well push other middleware game engine providers like Epic to become more competitive and go all the way with optimising for and moving over functions to the Cell's SPEs. Epic has shown to be unwilling with regard to this in the past (equality on PS3 and 360 was their aim, but not beyond this they suggested, maybe due to dealing with Microsoft so much).

However if Crytek fully delivers, it may well make sense for using their game engine to develop games for the PS3 exclusively. As developers will be able to have far more freedom while taking advantage of this engine. For example you can't have one version of your game with twice the amount of activity than another version or for example improved artificial intelligence, as this would directly effect game design and dynamics. In addition developers can also rely fully on the space benefits of Blu-Ray disc, combined with a default harddrive for more optimal streaming (in addition to other assumptions like default internet functionality for anyone with internet access, motion control option, etc).

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

well it was kinda obvious from  the pictures but we should wait for a game to be released on this engine before we judge it and not just based on a tech demo.

P.S.here are the pictures i m  talking about.(compare the grass,mountains and level of details in the pictures)

Kinda obvious from the pictures..... yeah sure....

Until I see a proper game running with an action packed scene I wont be getting excited.

Tech demo does look nice though.
