Think. Think about why addons like the Sega CD and 32X failed miserably while the Gameboy Color, GBASP, and DSi are huge successes. From historical evidence, those kinds of improvements are only feasible in the handheld market.

In the comments where some are making comments like this would alienate the Wii's existing owners, I don't see how it would have much of an impact there because like I said I think it would be the exact same Wii except for the fact that it also has the ability to outout signals in HD.

I the incomparable me. Predict that the next Wii will have
Webcam and Microphone as part of the "Sensor" bar.
A better software architecture to allow more Menu updatability.
Wiimote will have WM+ added and or the Mic will be in the Wiimote.
Some mysterious extra feature that is simple in concept but the idea is out of left field.
Increased Internal Flash to about 2gb.
SD Card slot(as is)
Double current Ram
Also they won't over praise this, but they will push IBM for a multicore Broadway/PPC, but the individual Core will run at the current speed. This will allow for a perfect backwards compatibility while offering extra CPU power for future games to take advantage of.

I predict Sony PS4 to be announce at E3 2009. GT5 becomes a launch title for PS4.

My mini prediction inside the prediction thread: The Wii is getting new colors at e3. In the unsuing chaos of their release, Nintendo falls behind demand yet again and can't catch up for another 12 months at least. You heard it here first people.

IF it is the same console, but with the ability to output in a higher resolution, all the games would look worse on both SD and HD televisions.

IF it is not the same console inside, but has a faster processor to cope with the extra resolution, then the old games would still look the same, but new games would have to have 2 versions of the same game on the disc, otherwise they would either look exactly the same or would not work on the older non-HD Wiis, thus alienating the existing audience.

Like I said orignally, this prediction is almost as stupid as the non blu-ray PS3, It is not a technical possibility without alienating the old audience.
