Forums - Nintendo Discussion - JRPG a go go on Wii

Awesome... I was getting worried the Wii wouldn't end up with JRPGs... looks like that fear is vanishing rapidly :)

Once the Wii gets a few of these, its all over... (as far as this generation goes...)

Are these in-game graphics? I normally have very little interest in jRPGs, but this is just so incredibly gorgeous that it got my attention.

check out odin sphere on the PS2, that is almost as impressive.

this is great news too, i was beginning to think the wii would lack for RPGs.

Furai No Shiren 3 looks amazing... Not saying the other one doesn't look good but not enough details and no scans so, can't judge.

It's nice to hear that Wii will have more RPGs than GC.

Furai No Shiren is http://www.romhacking.net/trans/483/, and the ORIGINAL Mysterious Dungeon series, with all the good and bad that comes with.  (The S-E Chocobo game for Wii is a spin-off of both the FF world and the Shiren the Wanderer's gameplay.  Same with the Turneko games.)

I'd always figured that the major Dev support would come from Japan first. Shame it'll take the west longer to follow suit though.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

This is true. Last gen, Western developers continued to largely support the Xbox for a while, but eventually migrated over to the PS2. I think we'll probably see the same thing this gen with the Wii and 360 - though look for that to change once Wii numbers surpass 360 numbers in NA.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Yeah, it was really only a matter of time before Japanese devs got on board - the system has over 2/3 of the next-gen market over there.

I'm really looking forward to playing that Vanillaware game, I hope Atlus brings it over.

Odin Sphere + Feudal Japan - Slowdown = must buy.

I wonder what happened to Opoona, an RPG controlled solely with the Nunchuck.
